The Fashion Enter – How to Succeed in Fashion Today seminar is scheduled for the 6th July at The Factory in North London and will include topics surrounding important documentation, finding the right manufacturer, IP and copyright, fabric sourcing and the design process.

FashionCapital & Fashion Enter CEO Jenny Holloway has just returned from the Made in Britain. Loved by the World conference in Liverpool where she was an invited panelist. The conference was a part of the International Festival of Business and organized by The Manufacturers’ Organisation EEF to support the growth of British production.

Celebrating Fashion & Textile Children’s Trust Milestone
Lord Stone of Blackheath will host an evening reception at The House of Lord, Thursday 16th June, celebrating over 160 years of the charity’s work and its strategy to help more families.
Guests will include representatives from the retail and manufacturing industries, including Jenny Holloway (Fashion Enter), Steve Rowe (M&S), Liza Webb (Jaeger), as well as MP’s and charities including Gingerbread, Turn2Us and Buttle UK. Speakers on the night will include Louise May, senior HR advisor, Boden Leicester, speaking about her personal experience of referring staff to FTCT. The charity wishes to hear from employers and employees who can help refer families within the industry, who are experiencing financial difficulties.

Perfect Patterns Open Day
Want to learn more about our highly successful Perfect Patterns course? Then come along to our open day. The Fashion Technology Academy will be holding 2 drop-in open days for potential learners to meet with Perfect Patterns tutor Alice Prier and learn more about the course.
There will be hands-on activities, which attendees can engage in to help them learn more about patterns and what the course can offer them.
The first will be Thursday 4 August from 10-2.
The second will be Thursday 25 August from 10-2.

News from the Fashion Studio
Today the Fashion Studio is meeting with the inspirational Vanessa Blythe (right with Jenny Holloway) from the label Nina Baker, which is not just about product but is a Community Interest Company. The company helps individuals who have been through a 12-step program or any other abstinence based recovery program for drugs or alcohol. It’s about the people behind the label being given a second chance to truly discover and utilise their talents, progress and become productive members of society. TCBL 2-Day Industry Event Huddersfield Tuesday 21st June

Fashion SVP held at Olympia, London, on the 28th and 29th June is a trade event where visitors can see all that manufacturing has to offer, from full-service knitwear and jersey wear production to high quality sewing services, design and pattern cutting services, materials testing and technical services. Staff Crazy Golf Outing
Last week some of the Fashion Enter teaching staff let their hair down with a company crazy golf night out. Here are some rather amusing images from the evening!

The FC team have been out covering all the action at LC: Men SS17, a big thanks to Sophie Lau for all of her show reports, Rebekah Litherland for her images and social media input and JoJo Iles reporting and shooting street style this season. The event had a fantastic buzz and was a great showcase to the creativity and heritage of menswear design that’s unique to London. Also this week, Siobhan from up and coming brand Claravalla headed over to GFW and gives us her first blog installment. While Nick Gould our law mentor advises on the new rules coming into force regarding Annual Returns.

Boutique Pick of the Week
This week the FC team was introduced to the Swatch Pop collection whist at the men’s shows. These bold and graphic timepieces can be worn in numerous ways – as a necklace, brooch or as a traditional watch, they really are a versatile take on the everyday accessory. Here’s a monochrome piece ‘Popdancing’ which retails at £54- A big thank-you to Michalis Christodoulou for his elegant illustrations of the FC team sporting their chosen Swatch designs.
