Sequins, Sparkles and Wands: Who have we been working with at the Fashion studio?

Rosie at the Fashion Studio comments: “Over the last 4 weeks we have been working with Pearl Lowe on her new childrenswear collection ‘Pearl Lowe Petite‘. The gorgeous circus inspired collection was snapped up and launched by Harrods earlier this week. Pearl Lowe Petite launched with girl’s fancy dress but will be expanding in SS16 for little boys too… watch this space as the silver jester outfit is simply exquisite! Pearl was a joy to work with she has an infectious bubbly personality and was really hands-on with the process, which made it really enjoyable for all the team.

“We even expanded in to wand making, which made us feel like Santa’s Elves! We will really miss seeing so many sequins and pink harlequin prints in the studio, but we know she will be back to make her SS16 for Selfridges next year. The range will no doubt be a huge success and we cannot wait to work with Pearl again in the future!”

Pearl Lowe adds:

“From as early as I can remember, I’ve always loved creating.  I would customise my clothes, knowing I’d be the only person wearing them. I just loved it.”

CPPD Workshop for Trainee Tutors From UEL

The ‘Continual Professional and Personal Development’ workshops at The Factory continue, this time with a group of trainee design and technology tutors from the University of East London (UEL).

Following the success of the garment life cycle workshops with New Look employees, Senior Lecturer for D&E Kate Hufton at UEL thought a group of trainee design tutors could also benefit highly from the unique insight into the world of garment manufacturing.

The feedback was fantastic and even those that had previous fashion experience in manufacturing felt they had gained more insight and would definitely recommend this workshop for their students.

Here are just a few comments received:

“I have refreshed my knowledge of the fashion production industry, however the information received today was so in depth that I have learnt more about the step by step processes. Really great information and the tour / SMETA task was really helpful. Chelsea – Trainee Tutor

“Excellent experience, really transparent and open about process from start to finish.” Billie – Trainee Tutor

“Very interesting – fantastic delivery of information and particularly good at conveying technical information simply.” Nancy – Trainee Textiles Tutor

Introducing Launch Brand Eversbrook.com

The Eversbrook range of menswear was created to provide formal wear that gives freedom and comfort no matter what. Whilst a well-fitted suit looks very smart, often there is no give in the material. So when you need to run to catch a taxi or stretch to reach the top shelf it’s restricting – and that’s what Jay Bull and the Eversbrook team wanted to change.

The range is based on Victorian style, combined with modern materials and manufacturing processes. All of Eversbrook garments are designed and made in England and where possible materials, including the suiting fabrics, are also made in England. Eversbrook offer a Made to Order service and have just launched today! To find out more visit: http://eversbrook.com/
