Fashion Enter’s all-day seminar to help new designers succeed in the industry has fast become a resounding success and a new date for the next seminar has been set.
On 12th May a series of guest speakers and the Fashion Enter team will be revealing their expert industry knowledge. The seminar is ideal for designers thinking about becoming a member with Fashion Enter as it provides an opportunity to meet with the team and learn about the services and support available to them. The day also offers a unique insight in topics such as production, marketing, important documentation and how to maximise sales.

Clothes Show Live 2011
FashionCapital is delighted to confirm it will be once again returning to the world’s largest fashion and beauty event Clothes Show Live!
Taking place at the NEC from 2nd – 7th December 2011, not only will the FashionCapital boutique be a popular hotspot with the 185,000 consumers over the 6 day event, but designers taking a stand will also be put forward to showcase on the Image Catwalk with Profile!

Trends S/S 12
The next set of S/S 12 trend boards are now available exclusively to members of FashionCapital.
The Fashion Capital Trend Prediction Service summaries the fashion trends by the use of moodboards for each forthcoming season. Working up to two years in advance the trends review generic mood and signature of the key fashion statement, fabric trends, colour trends, silhouette and line drawings to provide you with a clear brief for the fashion statement ahead.

Remember we are looking for your interpretation of a Summer Dress with a unique point of difference that is designer and not high street, whilst still being commercial.
Please bear in mind the BrandAlley customer as well as the French market in general.

Buyers meetings
We have meetings meetings lined up with Asos and Topshop and American chain boutique ‘LF Stores’
These retailers are all geared for a similar market check, you may be unfamiliar with LF Stores so have a look at their website www.LFstores.com. Topshop have something new in mind, which we cannot reveal yet… but its not to be missed! Asos are looking for the best of the best designers and they want good prices too.
We have meetings next week and would like to call in all collections for Monday the 11th of April.

We are currently looking for new designers for the mid price range womanswear market as well as mid price range accessory and footwear designers with a major point of difference, as we are looking for NEWNESS.

The Great British Wedding event – W1
On the 28th April 2011 British Designers @ Fashion Capital, 2 Seymour place, W1H 7NA, will be holding The Great British Wedding event. We will be showcasing designer bridal collections, Bridesmaids collections, Men’s suits & mother of the bride outfits along with the opportunity to sample some wedding cake & try on bridal accessories, surrounded by some beautiful flower arrangements. The event will be open to the public from 1pm on the day.

The Latest from British Designers@ FashionCapital Bath
After much debate and discussion the FashionCapital judging panel of the ‘South West Womenswear Design Competition’ have agreed on a winning designer; well done to Joshua Riches from Bath, his combination of unique design details, easy-to-wear shapes and rich colour palette won the panel over. Joshua will now be invited to the workshop to select fabrics and the team there will begin to create the first samples of his capsule range.
Exciting times! We’ll keep you informed of all the latest developments.

The Collection
The Collection team are getting ready for another fabulous show. Although a venue hasn’t been confirmed the show will be held on Friday 13th and the theme will be UNLUCKY LUXURY. The theme will be luxurious high fashion and we are looking for opulence, class and elegance for this show. If you think your designs would be appropriate for the show please email jemima@fashioncapital.co.uk with images of your collection for consideration.

Apprenticeships
Our team of talented apprentices were taught about draping and employment law this week and now know how to write their own contracts of employment. The students used their existing block created in previous lessons to cut out and pin to a mannequin to practice draping with excess fabric, it was evident to see why our troop of apprentices were selected to represent the first ever cohort of the fashion and textiles apprenticeship programme, having shown early signs of true talent.
