NVQ I and 2 Qualifications at The Workshop
Last week we reported on the exciting news that The Workshop will soon be offering NVQ qualifications to schools, colleges and teachers in North and East London. Commencing in January 09 bookings can now be taken.
These courses will offer practical training to both schools and teachers directly relating to the curriculum but will also be aimed at businesses and designers, allowing them to up skill their workforce in a variety of skills.
Profile at FashionExpo
With less than three weeks now until the event things are really hotting up for the designers showcasing at Profile at FashionExpo. With all the exhibitors now finalised a seminar on top tips and how to exhibit successfully will be taking place to ensure everyone makes the most out of this fantastic opportunity. After party
This year exhibitors and guests attending the Profile at FashionExpo event will be able to carry on the celebrations at an after party at the Keston Lodge just 2 minutes away from the Business Design Centre. The bar boasts trendy clientele from the North London area and with its chic décor and friendly atmosphere is the prefect venue to carry on the evenings festivities.
Drapers Industrial Trust
On 10th November The Master and Wardens of the Worshipful Company of Drapers and the Chairman of the Industrial Trust have invited FashionCapital to exhibit at a Reception and Awards Ceremony to celebrate the work of young people and of the technical textiles sector.
The event will celebrate excellence in design, science, tecnology and engineering bringing together Technical Textile decision makers, practioners and suppiers all under one roof. The main aim is to engage young people into the technical textile sector through innovative and exciting ways.

Grainne Byrne to write for FashionCapital
Grainne Byrne is 27, originally from Northern Ireland, has lived in Edinburgh for several years. She has been writing style features on a freelance basis for since graduating from the University of Stirling in 2004 and has been published in The Scotsman, the Edinburgh Evening News, Scotland on Sunday, The Pulse Magazine, is Style Editor of Instant Magazine, and editor on new publication called Into Xile magazine. Grainne studied Spanish with Film and Media Studies but has an intense passion for fashion and style. Her style staples are pillar box red nails, tights of all colours, patterns and textures, and stiletto heels.

Hair We Grow
Hair We Grow company was established to research, design and produce the finest quality semi and permanent hair extension, with the view of future diversification in the beauty and cosmetic ranges.
This product idea is the brainchild of Jenny Jinadu who was frustrated at the various inadequacies of the hair extension products on the market. She designed her own version and also developed the prototype / patent .
The basis of all hair extensions used by most women is this comb. Hair strands are secured to this flexible comb, which will simply hook into the hair of the wearer. Existing solutions/methods include clips and adhesive methods and plaited in methods that can take up to two hours to fix.

The credit crunch continues….Marks & Spencer's shares fell close to an eight-year low yesterday after broker Pali International issued a bearish note ahead of next week's interim results. The retailer's price slipped 5.75p to 218.5p as more than 6 million shares were traded.
