We also have an information role to play on fashioncapital whereby we provide the latest data and updates from other business support organisations (complete with hyper links) to ensure that you are well INFORMED. There are literally 100s of organisations, schemes, workshops, events that are available in the industry and www.fashioncapital.co.uk aims to make it simple for you by providing the information on events, Business (see BSO), PR etc. on one easy to access site.
We also offer much more and we are currently working on a project for Miss Selfridge sourcing new knitwear manufacturers. If there are any knitwear suppliers that would like to work directly with the Miss Selfrdige buyer just call 020 8462 1475 and let’s start the ball rolling. Whatever the doom merchants may proclaim about the “dire state of retail in the UK†there are always windows of opportunity out there waiting to be grabbed!!
Finally I would just like to pay last respects to Huw Williams who regrettably passed away yesterday. As an Industry Advisor, who is genuinely from industry and not the public sector, I initially found it some what frustrating to work within the public sector framework – still can’t understand the lack of genuine collaboration between BSO’s but hey ho that’s the way it goes. Huw Williams was different. He was a big man – big in personality, drive, passion for the industry and a real shaker and mover. He formed the Welsh Clothing and Textiles Association and was a true innovator. The industry gained so much from the Big Man as I did too. He will be sorely missed and our sincere condolences to his wife and children.

Until next week.
