Here's to 2010! I hope you all had a Merry Christmas and spent some quality time with your loved ones.
As a new decade approaches I just want to say a few words to our 80,000 members!
Its going to be a very tough trading environment this year, especially in January and February; the timing of the VAT increase is not going to help! After a frenzy this Christmas period, sales and opportunities to open new accounts will become harder. However every cloud does have a silver lining and retailers are hungry for new and fresh designs. They need newness and top store ranging options to keep our shoppers enticed.
Our Showroom, where we sell on your behalf, is surpassing expectations so any full member should contact hayleigh@fashion-enter.com to arrange an appointment.
The beginning of this year will be tough and this may mean making tough decisions but you are not alone.

Clothes Show Live post Event Seminar
For everyone who attended the Clothes Show Live Birmingham this December, a post event seminar will take place in January to discuss feedback for an even bigger and better event in the future. All feedback is greatly appreciated and is vital to ensure the appropriate measures are taken to fulfil expectations in 2010.

Enter the Dynamic age of Club meets Fashion!
Next year FashionCapital is proud to present a new way forward for our designers – working alongside Dynamic Models, fashion shows will be held at the top clubs in London on a monthly basis. Designers will have the chance to see their garments on quality models and gain valuable exposure to not just potential customers but also press and potentially Buyers, as well as select Celebrities, starting from end January 2010. This will provide an ideal opportunity for the designers involved to have professional images for their Press and Look Books for a fraction of the true cost, plus invite any potential customers and clients they may already have to enjoy an evening out at clubs such as the Embassy in Central London. A nominal cost will apply for the use of the models, hair, make-up, production and photographer, but will include a free image of their favourite model and outfit. Aquascutum/Jaeger Placements
The work placements at the prestigious high end head office fashion houses have provided exclusive experience for the most talented students progressing through the Stitch in Time programme. Shirley James, Ayen Kuol and Nicole Archer have been making great headway having experienced working life in both companies. Stitch in Time
The Stitch in Time programme is yet to take another exciting turn in 2010 as Fashion Enter is currently in discussion with more industry giants to offer placements for most talented and motivated participants. As the New Year beckons and resolutions for the year are a hot topic for conversation, what better way of starting a fresh by embarking on a new career in fashion with incredible opportunities to network and experience the industry first hand courtesy of leading experts in the realms of the industry leaders? CAD/CAM Course
On the week commencing 18th January, Fashion Enter will be hosting another course using the Vetigraph CAD/CAM software at the Workshop for students at Kingston College. The Vetigraph software is a fantastic package offering the provision to create patterns and manipulate for grading. The CAD/CAM course has been extremely successful since its introduction to the Workshop in early 08 and is continuing to educate up and coming fashion designers for an easier, quicker option to create patterns and grades.
"Sew Amazing" Courses
The Sew Amazing Course will be starting again in Jan 2010. Leyla Mehmet who is the head Sewing Teacher specialises in Western style sewing and customisation! Leyla's incredible knowledge of garment construction can be imparted to show you how to develop something from nothing! We are currently running 1-2-1 courses which to date have been extremely successful and are tailored to suit individuals needs. We do not have a rigid syllabus as such due to the fact we can provide training for you everything you need to know about designing and making with a creative twist! We have also launched a new course which focuses on African Dress making which will be taught by Sade Ayni. For more details please contact syreeta@fashion-enter.com
