Mission accomplished by the South African delegation!

The reciprocal visit to the UK made by the South African delegation last week was a fantastic success. The delegates had an intensive week of back to back meetings with some great leads being followed through now they are back home.

The highly sought after delegates received some excellent coverage; British Satellite television filmed them at the British Fashion and Textile Museum and BBC London covered their visit to Croydon College where the delegates were highly impressed with the standard of work.

NY Profile

FashionCapital will be meeting with American partner Nolcha tomorrow to discuss the final details for NY Profile in September 08. Profile is now in its ninth season and will making its debut in New York during New York Fashion Week. Entrants are at a fantastic standard;

Face of Croydon

The Face of Croydon semi finals are fast approaching on Saturday June 14th and with the applications coming in at a rapid rate of knots FashionCapital will now be launching the online voting where members of the public can vote for their favourite girl to win.

Croydon Fashion Festival

Croydon’s First Fashion Festival runs from the 16th until the 23rd June. The event promises to be a big hit, with a packed schedule; Catwalk shows will take place across the week showcasing the creative talents of local designers, Croydon College graduates and Alternative Fashion Week alongside the High Street stores who will be showing the best of their summer collections. Plus all those interested in perusing fashion as a career or business can attend the seminars and workshops programme. With makeovers, competitions and style challenges also happening in various venues around town Croydon Fashion Festival will deliver a whole host of glamorous proceedings guaranteeing a wonderfully stylish week and looks set to become a regular fixture in the years ahead.

The retail market gloom is still not lifting this week with more announcements of big high street names in financial trouble. Mark Brafman has bought value fashion retailer MK One out of administration for an undisclosed sum as predicted by Retail Week magazine on May 23.
