Profile at Mayfair Hotel – 6th September 2010
Profile is back! The critically acclaimed event is set to return this September at the prestigious May fair Hotel’s Crystal Room.
Profile is a static trade show and catwalk theatre, showcasing the very best ladies & menswear clothing & accessory designers. It is a much-needed platform between Graduate Fashion Week and London Fashion Week.
The next date for Profile is now confirmed as 6th September 2010 at the May Fair Hotel.
‘Situated in the heart of the Mayfair village, the May Fair Hotel has been a by-word for elegance and style since the twenties.
Recently crowned The Official Hotel of London Fashion Week and the partner hotel for the London Film Festival, the May Fair Hotel is the hotel of the moment.’

The Collection – Summer Showcase
On Friday the 23rd July FashionCapital teamed up with Edge Models once more to bring The Collection to Amika night club. The show was fabulous, packed with a crowd of avid fashion lovers and certainly a night to remember. The designers showing were Ariella, Dancing Dolls, Agnes Valentine and Minikini.

FashionCapital is now looking for cutting edge designers to showcase their designs in the next fashion show. Venues are already being reviewed and after the Summer Showcase we are now looking for most innovative and advant garde designers to wow the stylish and influential crowd being drawn into top London nightclubs for The Collection! You will have up to 10 complete outfits on the catwalk, inclusion on all pre and post event publicity, opportunity to be interviewed on the promotional dvd and professional images of your collection on the catwalk. My Fash Com – The Fashion Network
The new community section on the site has already proven to be a popular hit amongst our users and now named as My Fash Com it is fast becoming the fashion ‘facebook’ for networking and promotion. This new online source has been designed to enhance the networking society within the fashion industry. It allows designers, photographers, graduates, retailers, manufacturers, stylists and many more in the business to unite and network together forming a strong fashion culture.

This is a fantastic opportunity for designer members of Fashion Enter and FashionCapital.co.uk to utilise another potential revenue stream and ongoing marketing opportunities. South African delegation
Last week a senior delegation from the DTI in South Africa visited London for a review of the industry and possible collaborations. The delegation commented:
‘We spent an action packed five days in London reviewing all levels of the fashion economy. Fashion represents the 2nd highest revenue earner in London next to the financial services and our intention is to reach the same platform for South African designers.
Fashion Enter is in a unique position being the only company in the UK straddling across both private and public initiatives. We had meetings ranging from Lord Stone of Black Heath (ex M&S) to the British Fashion Council to the Mayor of Enfield to retailers such as John Lewis and asos.com. It really was an excellent overview of all sectors and we are extremely grateful to Fashion Enter for facilitating the agenda’.

Miami Swim Show
The show was incredibly successful for all as designers were showcased to US buyers and press.
FashionCapital have teamed up with Global Trends to forge a strong UK/US link – This unique collaboration between our two companies has commenced with the Miami Swim Show and one collection has received an immediate order.
Designers will all receive individual feedback. Samples are being sent back with in the next week.
We are looking forward now to the Coast Show in November – we will be taking a stand and representing designers there to all the fashionistas passing through!

Fashion Enter’s How to succeed in fashion today seminar!
After the resounding success of the last seminar held by Fashion Enter on how to make your business succeed in fashion today, a new date has been set. On the 29th September the team at FE and a series of industry experts will be revealing their knowledge and expertise in an all day seminar covering all aspects of the industry and setting up your own label. Fashion Summer Uni day 2 and 3 @ Fashion Enter Barking
Day 3 of the summer uni and the students are still loving it Yewande Babasanya from Barking & Emmanuella Idris have been extra dedicated and have even done extra hours. Yewande Has completed her pattern for her skirt design, taken measurements and has made it with just the finishing touches needed ‘i really enjoyed it and it has been a great experience so far’.
All of the students will keep you updated with their garment designs as the weeks go by so you will hear from all of them and see pictures of their fabulous designs.
Leon Hemmingway – Specialist Advisor
The latest specialist advisor to join FC is Lean Hemmingway – Creative Entrepreneurship Adviser. Leon is an alumni of Nottingham and Oxford Universities, where he obtained respectively his bachelor’s and DPhil degrees (Applied Chemistry & Business). Whilst at Oxford he worked with some of the UKs most entrepreneurial academics and was part of the research group which formed the highly successful university “spin-out” business Opsys. This gave him valuable insights into the many issues facing UK entrepreneurs as well as the intricate processes driving concepts through to successful end products. It also heightened his passionate interest in various aspects of creative entrepreneurship, which still remain today. Members can now view Leon’s full profile and contact details.
