Fashion Enter will be featuring in the asos.com magazine as Holly Gibson ventured to the Workshop in North London to feature the Fashion Enter manufacturing unit in North London within the "Design Cycle". In conjunction with the article FashionCapital.co.uk will soon be launching the Design Cycle as a new section taking designers through every essential stage of the design process from the creation of an idea right through to production and trading overseas. Watch this space for the revolutionary new section to assist designers along every step of the way to a successful and sustainable label.

Debenhams, asos.com and Topshop

FashionCapital's reputation for talent scouting is growing on a monthly basis with new enquiries being received from other high street retailers as well as overseas companies too.

A very successful meeting with the Head of Buying and Design Director at Debenhams look place at The Showroom last Friday. Discussions are now taking place on ways to move forward so more to follow soon!

Attention members:

On 4th June the asos.com buying team will be visiting the Showroom with a view to selecting 3 more ladieswear designers to showcase on the leading etailer. If you are a ladieswear designer and would like to follow the selection process please contact hayleigh@fashion-enter.com.

Another exciting opportunity is also available with Topshop on the 5th June where they are looking for a further 2 ladieswear designers. There will also be a selection process so not all applicants will be successful. Again please contact hayleigh@fashion-enter.com

Retail News

The ongoing credit crunch has pushed consumers to opt for in store credit due to the severe lack in availability via the financial system. The Finance and Leasing Association saw an overall reduction for consumer lending in March of 12% from 08 and the year ending March 09 saw a total decrease of 13% with consumer lending amounting to just £58bn. As secured loans dropped 76% and credit card spending by 3% a dramatic rise of 24% seen in store credit increasing by 9% from the previous year and was the next inevitable stage in the current recession.
