Never a dull moment, we have new courses/workshops, apprenticeship placements and news & reviews for you to check out, not forgetting to mention that our Factory in North London recently underwent a Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit and passed with flying colours. Meet the man behind $200 million fortune Fenn Wright Manson
On joining FashionCapital members can now exclusively meet with Glynn Manson of Fenn Wright Manson for advice and support with their own fashion label!
The Fenn Wright Manson (FWM) Group was founded in 1974 by Trevor Wright, Colin Fenn, and Glynn Manson, as a British-based company operating from London. Initially, all sales were to the UK market, and production was wholly in Hong Kong.
The company designs, manufactures, and sells both women’s and men’s clothing, with by far the largest part of the business generated through the women’s divisions.
‘In the very early days of FWM I was lucky enough to hire an exceptionally brilliant young designer called Ardian Cartmel, and my working relationship with Adrian changed everything. FWM took off in the US and became $200 million turn over business.
When The Limited organisation based in Columbus, Ohio bought Victoria Secret, I was invited to set up the design and production for them, because FWM was very highly regarded in the US market for silk, and VS was 100% silk in the early days.
With all the experience I have in the fashion industry its now time for me to impart my learning and help new and creative designer talent. This is why I am working with fashioncapital.co.uk – let’s see the new generation of designers also hit the $200m target!’

The Latest at The Factory
The Factory has been preparing for the new ASOS Stitching Academy to start in July. A gorgeous space has been dedicated to the project which overlooks the entire factory! Students will be able to work with a view of production as it happens which will be very beneficial to their overall learning.
We also recently had Audit’s take place by ASOS and River Island, which we passed with flying colours! The Factory has become such an organised environment and is also working to further improve its efficiency! It’s amazing to think how much has happened considering we only moved in January! To think we have had the Creative Skillset campaign, the filming for Remploy staff, visits from The Prince’s Trust, an Open Day, Apprenticeship teaching days taking place here as well as visits from major buyers from River Island, ASOS and Marks & Spencer…all in a matter of 5 Months!
Also at The Factory we have our ex-Remploy staff which have improved an incredible amount! We have had Nigel improve from 25 labels in a day to a whopping 442 labels a day which is an incredible achievement! A lovely addition to The Factory.
We can also welcome our new Assistant Manager Tracy who has been running her own Factory in South Africa and has an amazing knowledge of Quality Control and improving efficiency.
Continuously growing and looking forward to an exciting future at The Factory.

”I think the trial idea for an apprentice is such a good idea. I have always loved fashion and really want to break into fashion as a career, but jobs are so hard to find. The seven weeks with Sir Plus is an excellent way of finding out if this is the right career path for me and for Henry who owns Sir Plus. I am certainly going to give this experience everything I have to make it work. Thanks to FashionCapital for supporting me on this great opportunity!”
