Dear all,
In the press!
Recently the British national press has been rife with stories about the importance of British manufacturing. Fashion Enter is at the forefront of bringing garment manufacturing back to the UK with two production units in London and an Apprenticeship programme teaching the necessary skills to keep manufacturing in the UK.
Last month, Fashion Enter invited press to visit the Fashion Studio at UEL to see British manufacturing in action, learn about the Fashion and Textiles Apprenticeship and speak to company Director, Jenny Holloway, and studio manager, Desiree Koster. Drapers, WGSN and just-style.com were amongst the press invited and have all recently published great articles about Fashion Enter and British manufacturing.

Regents College seminar
Yesterday Fashion Enter held a careers event and pop up market with Regents College for their students as part of their UNION Fashion Week event. Jenny Holloway provided the students with a unique insight into the fashion industry talking about How to run a label successfully. Manufacturing specialist Nigel Rust spoke about production and manufacturing in the UK, designer Vjera Vilicnik revealed her journey from education to now running her own business and Retail Manager Syreeta McQueen discussed the world of retail and selling.
After the presentations the event turned into a networking and pop up boutique with designers selling their creations to the students. Overall a great event to have been involved with!

Asos.com and Princes Trust visit to The Fashion Studio
Today 12 young people from the charity The Prince’s Trust, accompanied by ASOS, will be visiting Fashion Enter’s The Fashion Studio to see production in action and to talk to company Directory, Jenny Holloway and designers. One such designer will be Nayla Adams talking about illustrating and print design. The people invited will be learning about the different roles within the factory and the different stages of production, giving them something to think about for future careers. There will also be the opportunity to learn about Fashion Enter’s very own Fashion & Textiles Apprenticeship, something which ASOS is also involved in, by providing work placements for the apprentices
The Latest from British Designers @ FashionCapital Bath
This week has taken an educational turn with two very different projects. First up we have set a design brief specific to our core market here in Bath for Bath Spa Uni 2nd Year student Viki Finlay. We look forward to viewing her capsule collection; the strongest design will be made and will hopefully feature in the window.
Secondly we kitted and fitted four girls / models from The Royal High School in Bath for their charity fashion show which takes place next Tuesday. The show is being held to raise money for their sponsor school in Kenya, The Crane Academy. Each model will wear 2 outfits each and for this show we have gone for a fun, preppy look followed by some essential prom dresses. Designers included in this show: Henry Hunt, Ruby Rocks and Belles of London. Will report back on this next week.
Best seller of the week: well done to Posthuman Wardrobe – a customer loved the cut of the trousers and snapped up 3 pairs on the spot.
Until next week stay stylish and pop by the boutique.

Boutique Pick of the Week
Leather is always popular in fashion and this leather waistcoat by London Fashion Week designer, Christian Blanken, is perfectly adapted to the warmer months. In a softer grey colour, this leather waist coat will toughen up the floral trend and is also a fabulous addition to maxi skirts over the summer months. The tie belt keeps the waist coat feminine, and the wide shoulder, short sleeve cut allows for layering to keep you looking cool both day and evening. The British Designers @ FashionCapital e-boutique have a one-off sample UK size 8, retailing at the sale price of £190.00.

Until next time, have a great week All the team at Fashion Capital x
