Blogging is well and truly among us and the fashioncapital team are now almost ready to launch their fashion blogs too. A new state of the art blog is being drawn up by our web wizard Yoel and this will be ready before Christmas. Bloggers are plentiful and everybody from nurses to farmer’s wives and politicians have blogs today. Our blogs will be different, of course, enabling you to send over pictures too and a profile of yourself can also be available. Remember over 55% of our hits are from the States…perhaps your blog will be the making of you! Also remember we have our multi media section too so send in those video clips of yourself for maximum pr!

So are you one of the most satisfied students in the UK i.e. white female aged over 30 and living at home? Or are you a young Asian male on a course such as agriculture and computer science? According to recent research by the Higher Educations Fuding Council for England researchers concluded on the facts above. What a waste of total time and money! Have you ever heard anything so ridiculous; certainly the postings we receive from students are from all backgrounds and seem to possess this can do attitude that would-be designers need in the fashion industry!

We had a great response to our Enterprise Week stand at Croydon last week…flying the flag for entrepreneurial Britian! We showcased work from Croydon and Kingston College thanks to the kind support of Liz Ogilvie and Gayle Atkins. A pamper pod was erected (!!)At the Centrale Shopping Centre and we had the highly innovative designs on display. From Croydon we had the “getting it right first time” workshop T-shirts that will now be sold in the Enter boutique and from Kingston some fabulous cultural rich mix designer dresses. Shoppers were trying to buy them off the stands.

The mobile phone designer wall paper competition is now drawing to an end.

Some late entries are fab and some new photographic shots have also been sent in too.

The winner of the wall paper competition will be announced next week…a great advertising opportunity for the lucky winner.

We have also been approached by a plethora of media companies that want to advertise on our site. We have confirmed a contract with Real Media so there is going to be some new advertising skyscrapers on the site shortly.

Finally I have to acknowledge Shoemaker Peter Schweiger, a truly great man that I met a few times. He is the shoe designer that owns Jarnes Taylor and Sons who make “status shoes” the type of shoes that made Tom Cruise look significantly taller in his wedding photographs! He produces shoes with lifts inside that look externally like any other pair of shoes. We have our own expert shoe designer on the site, Silvia Campbell, so if you ever need any advice or information about shoes and lasts she is the person to contact via vanessa@fashioncapital.co.uk

Ok that’s it for this week. Until next time.
