Wow what do you think of the new Trends section….isn’t it brilliant? We only launched the new section yesterday and already we have had calls into the office with delighted fashioncapital users expressing their glee!! Makes the job so worth while! Caroline Shaw has done us proud and the Key Trends summary section is, it appears, just what you wanted! The Key trends summary provides an overview of a certain theme so, for example, the first theme is ‘The Garden of Earthly Delights’ and we have combined fabric, silhouette, colour and mood direction into the summary provided by Caroline and Vanessa. We then disseminate the information into an easy-to-read format and exact specific information such as silhouette, colour, fabric etc. Marvellous and simple to use. We are going to add in a Fashion Focus each week too by Caroline who will home in on a particular theme each week.

In addition we are also included some Top Designer Collections too. We have entered into negotatiations with designers such as Preen, Betty Jackson et al and each week we will be providing illustrations of certain key silhouettes for the forthcoming season. We really are delighted with the progress of this section and as always feedback is gratefully accepted!

Another new initiative for this week in the unique collaboration with Ravensbourne College of Design and Communication. The LFF is delighted to announce a new feature for the learning section of the site that will be launched shortly.
Helen Gleaves “Enterprise Support Manager” commented “The Ravensbourne College is a hotbed of design and textile talent and we will shortly be providing information regarding the wide variety of courses available at the college, specialist features regarding new workshops and also showcasing the talent of our final year students on the textile section on the On-Line Museum. It’s a fantastic opportunity for both the college and fashioncapital”
Isn’t it great that we now have reports from Toronto too? Many thanks to Rachel Schwab for providing an account of trends from Canada – it’s great to provide some real trend information from across the sea. We are also looking forward to receiving the diary from New Zealand too. Any time now!

Finally THANKS for the support regarding the marathon….again. Not long now. I went on my longest run (well, actually more like a power walk with an occasional hop thrown in for good measure!) last weekend 18.5miles. I can’t believe that my stumpy little legs could actually go that far!
Until next week.
