Eco Bags
Croydon Council and Fashion Enter have combined forces to tackle the unnecessarily extensive plastic bag consumption within our benevolent borough. We are looking for budding designers to create a design that will feature on a series of reusable bags to be sold throughout Croydon stores later this year.
The competition already in full swing has received some fantastic entries.

Benjamin Cohen
Ben Cohen is a Fine Art student at Loughborough University. His art work is so incredible we simply had to share it with you.
‘I guess I have always been interested in figurative art. When I was a boy I was blown over by the Renaissance and Baroque periods, form Titian, El Greco, Brueghel and Mantegna to Rembrandt, Rubens and Caravaggio etc. I always return to the masters for inspiration….
21st Century artists such as Freud, Jenny Saville, Euan Uglow, Eric Fischl, Francis Bacon and Tai-Shan Schierenberg have had a huge input into my progression….’
Here's a sneak preview of Ben's fantastic work. Click here for full gallery.
The House of Victor & Rolf
As promised FashionCapital went along to the Barbican to review the Victor & Rolf exhibition The House of Victor & Rolf.
Highlights include Haute couture pieces from Atomic Bomb, 1998-99, featuring dramatic mushroom cloud-like cushioned necklines and Russian Doll, 1999-2000, in which a single model was painstakingly dressed by the designers themselves in front of a catwalk audience in 10 independent layers.
One of the most inspiring and sensational exhibitions, this is an absolute must see.
Members can access the full review from FashionCapital.
Until next time, have a great week
