Hanging it all together for the fashion
industry

NEWSLETTER
23rd January 2008

Hello All,

Christmas
& New Year already seem like a faded memory as the fashion calendar
for 2008 is well underway. There’s been Men’s Fashion Weeks in Milan &
Paris, the Haute Couture shows, Bread & Butter Barcelona, TopDrawer Spring,
and the list goes on. Our editor JoJo Iles viewed the London College of Fashion
MA show which included creations that incorporated human hair, silicone horns
and digital prints, although not all at once. And while we are gearing up for
the international fashion circuit; New York, London, Milan and Paris, we have
plenty of stylish happenings of our very own…

Exclusive ASOS.com Competition

You’d have
to be living on a remote island, free from computer technology not to have
heard about the phenomenal success of online fashion retailer www.asos.com. Last year ASOS reported pre-tax
profits of £3.4 million for the year to 31 March, compared with £1.4 million
the previous year. The fast-paced trend-led website has proved a big hit with
fashion conscious 16-34 year olds. Now the ASOS team has joined forces with
FashionCapital for an exclusive designer competition. Open to womenswear
designers the competition will offer a fantastic leg-up in a notoriously tough
industry, director Jenny Holloway commented “We are delighted to be launching a nationwide search for the right
designer for ASOS. ASOS.com is a highly respected online retailer for fashion
today and by using FashionCapital we have tremendous reach to find the most creative
designer that is right for the ASOS customer.”

Check back
on FashionCapital for more details on the competition soon!
