FashionCapital Facelift

The Fashion Capital team have been working tirelessly recently on a brand spanking new site layout!

We are sad to wave good bye to the current layout but we feel that after two years it is time for a change around. The site will be split into sections from the homepage. Industry, Lifestyle and Members. Industry will include all your business news and advice. Lifestyle will include trends and health & beauty.

We are due to launch this exciting new design on Christmas day… check back then to have your say on the new layout. There will be a forum in the feedback section for all your questions and queries or you can email jemima@fashioncapital.co.uk

For now here is a sneak peek at the New Homepage!

CAD/CAM Course

On the week commencing 18th January, Fashion Enter will be hosting another course using the Vetigraph CAD/CAM software at the Workshop for students at Kingston College. The Vetigraph software is a fantastic package offering the provision to create patterns and manipulate for grading. The CAD/CAM course has been extremely successful since its introduction to the Workshop in early 08 and is continuing to educate up and coming fashion designers for an easier, quicker option to create patterns and grades.

Pop Up Shop Truman Brewery

The "All I want for Christmas" Pop up Shop came to an end this week and what a great time we had! The hustle and bustle of Brick Lane attracted all different types of shoppers and really worked well for Fashion Enter as we have such a large, eclectic range of designers. The Fashion Capital word was spread amongst the vast consumer audience as well as other designers, drastically increasing the existing customer base.

The event was such an overwhelming success that Fashion Enter will be continuing in the New Year and continuing the pop up shop concept on a Sunday within the extension of the infamous "Sunday Up Market"; one of the busiest markets in London. Keep your eyes peeled for more information on FashionCapital.co.uk as we will be giving our members another opportunity to showcase their designs in the heart of Brick Lane!

Thanks to all the designers that committed this time round in such a new and fresh idea and being the first to experience the first of many Brick Lane days! Also a big thank you to Libby and Rudi Management of the Pop Up shop at Truman Brewery for making our time there a fantastic experience and also Carla and Maria for all your help at the pop up shop!

Festive Fashions

The yearly Festive Fashion show held on Saturday 19th December was another success! Many people surrounded Fashion Enter Barking Boutique on Saturday as the Real Models strutted their stuff on the catwalk in store. They showcased many of our designer's collections and they modelled the "little black dress" collections designed by Barking and Dagenham college students aspiring to be the next Alexander McQueen.

The dresses designed were fabulous displays of the raw talent from the local area and are now currently on sale at the Boutique.

After the show a member of the audience purchased one of the dresses on the spot which was goes to show the outstanding creative gifts students possess in Barking.

The day was complimented with warm mulled wine and mince pies which warmed the event up, even Santa's helpers popped in to say hi and couldn't miss out on the action!

Thank you to all the designers allowing us to showcase your designs, the Real Models, Barking and Dagenham College students and tutor Jo Price for all your support on the day and of course all of the Fashion Enter staff!

Merry Christmas, can't wait til next year!!
