Hobbs Junior Garment Technologist Apprenticeship

Background: This appointment supports the Senior Garment Technologist in the delivery of the technical excellence and premium product quality.
In order to deliver a challenging business plan, there is a need to ensure sound succession planning of the Quality Assurance team, the Junior Garment Technologist assists senior members to constantly challenge and improve product quality, whilst learning about innovation in product engineering and manufacturing to deliver efficiencies and solutions directly at source with Supplier/Manufacturers.
Main Purpose of the Job: To support and assist the Senior Garment Technologist working closely with the Buying team and Supplier/Manufacturers. The Junior Garment Technologist works to support consistent premium product quality is developed directly at source with Supplier/Manufactures which is fully aligned with the business and department objectives having a well developed understanding of the target customer.
The Junior Garment Technologist assists in the creation of technical garment specifications released to suppliers for an individual collection, working closely with a Senior Garment Technologist in finding solutions and efficiencies supporting the Buying team.
The Junior Garment Technologist supports peer development within the QA team building positive relationships, cultivating partnership at all times with Suppliers. Demonstrating an understanding and implementing the Hobbs brand values at all times.

ASOS First Stage Assessment Day

The ASOS first stage assessments are taking place at The Factory tomorrow (Thursday 24th April). 25 selected candidates have been invited in for a first stage assessment day for the ASOS Garment Tech Apprenticeship.
Candidates will be given an insight into a career in garment technology and an introduction to the garment tech place here at The Factory along with full information on the apprenticeship programme to decide whether it is right for them.

From Stitching Academy to ASOS
Timi Newton a former Stitching Academy student has landed work experience at the asos.com design studio. Timi said: “This is a dream come true. I am so excited I am shaking! Thank you to ASOS. If it wasn’t for the Stitching Academy and meeting Jenny and Leyla this would never have happened!”
Timi will be shadowing designers at ASOS for the next week at their head office.

Fiona Bruce Loves Michaela Jedinak Dresses!
Once again Fiona Bruce has been spotted reading the BBC news in a Michaela Jedinak dress. This time she wears an Alba shape in electric blue. All of Michaela’s dresses are made from Italian fabrics and produced at Fashion Enter’s Fashion Studio. All feature flattering, timeless cuts and a top-notch finish.
