Hanging it all together for the fashion industry

NEWSLETTER

The LFF were waving the flag for Fashion Capital, the Kingly Court boutique designers, the on-line boutique etc at London Fashion Week over the last 4 days – Kind courtesy of Creative London and the British Fashion Council.  We shared the stand Centre for Fashion Enterprise and our sister company LARC and…..it was the biz!

It has been a very exiting 4 days and the popular consensus from some of our designers. Was that Sunday was the best buyers day at LFW. If I read another negative report about LFW I think I will scream, there can only be one pinnacle fashion designer event in the UK calendar and that’s LFW! Where else can you see vibrant talent such as Jonathan Saunders, Tata-naka and Jiles Deacon. This is one end of the spectrum but let us also remember the unbelievable results of Tesco this week out-stripping the clothing sales of M & S

The LFF were delighted to be asked to judge at Clerkenwell Green Association’s ‘Well Dressed’ exhibition.  The standard of designers was exceptionally high – in fact it was so high we awarded a runner up prise to Kate Jones for her cashmere knitwear with vintage fabric trims, but the winner went to Sally of L.O.L Leonard of London who not only designed and manufactured beautiful silver and gold jewellery but also marketed her product superbly.  We will be offering a complimentary space to L.O.L in our Kingly Court boutique and we hope she Sally enjoyed the champagne!

The Top Shop project is now flying and this is so exciting for all the designers concerned.  Every six weeks three LFF designers will be profiled under a brand new boutique section.  Congratulations to Daniela Benson who is the latest designers confirmed for spring.

The hit rate for www.fashioncapital.co.uk is now at an all time high. We are currently on course for 1.5 million hit rate for the month of September – allegedly this is higher than the vogue website…can this be true?!

Have a great week ahead

Kindest regards
