NEWSLETTER
Dear all,
Calling Menswear Designers!
FashionCapital is delighted to announce an exciting new collaboration with leading departmental store Debenhams.
We are looking for ten UK up and coming menswear designers to be put forward to showcase at the Profile fashion event.
Debenhams will then select two of these designers at Profile to preview a small eight piece collection at two Debenhams stores.
We are taking expression of interest forms now so if you are a menswear designer please express your interest here and return to jenni@fashion-enter.com and updates with follow on how to apply!
Established in 2001 Profile is widely considered as the industry bridge between the new faces of Graduate Fashion Week and the names of London Fashion Week. It is an exciting opportunity to see the new talent in the fashion industry hit the cat-walk, sometimes for the first time.
Debenhams has been with the philosophy and ethos of Profile from the very beginning in 2001 so it is fantastic to gain their involvement and support for Profile in 2011!

The Latest from British Designers @ FashionCapital Bath
June is all about the grads and Bath is no exception as we were invited to view the latest designs from Bath Spa’s 2011 graduates. Set in the decadent ballroom of Bath’s Assembly Rooms show producer John Walford made the most of the elegant architectural features creating picture perfect scenes for each collection. Personal favourites included ‘Chercher La Femme’ by Hope Burridge – refined daywear pieces in relaxed 1920’s shapes featuring delicate laser-cut leather sections and accessories – beautiful and commercially desirable. Grace Butler combined intricate cut-work with strong colour for a stylish modern look, while Isabella Kent-Webb worked vintage silhouettes with oversize bows and pleating.

Also on show were designs from 1st and 2nd Year students and it was fantastic to see pieces from the FashionCapital ASOS Black project working the catwalk. Louise Pickles, the Course Leader, also thanked FashionCapital amongst others for working with the students and offering realistic insight into the fashion world.

New in at the boutique: Competition winner Joshua Riches samples have arrived and we are arranging a shoot as we speak. We have some gorgeous supple eel skin oversize clutches and purses from Heidi Klein and we have just collaborated on a shoot with stylist Ashley Cover and photographer Adam Robertson.
While we are as productive as ever a decision from Bath & North East Somerset Council still looms and the fate of the boutique is yet unknown. To read more about this issue and to support and sign our online petition please go to:

This story will feature in the local Chronicle this week.

On a lighter note the Paolita Beach Party is drawing near. Next Thursday 30th June to be exact – do pop by the boutique from 12pm – 6pm for discounts, drinks and a bit of frivolous fun!
Until next week,
The Team at British Designers Bath
