Made in Britain with Collyer Bristow

The Made in Britain event will take place tomorrow evening at Collyer Bristow gallery to celebrate British fashion design and manufacturing excellence.

The high end event will showcase a select cluster of British based designers across ladieswear and accessories that proudly produce in the UK, supporting the ‘Made in Britain’ label.

We are also delighted to announce that Creative Skillset, Jaeger, New Look and Barbara Hulanicki founder of the iconic British label BIBA will all be celebrating the ‘Made in Britain’ label with us.

Apprenticeships

Last week it was National Apprenticeship Week and Fashion Enter attended the ‘Creating the Future’ event with Creative Skillset to celebrate the launch of the first ever Higher Level Apprenticeships in advertising & marketing communications, creative & digital media and fashion & textiles.

The Fashion Enter apprentices were there in full force flying the flag and dressed as the We Can Do it girls, were not short of attention!

High street giant River Island is now recruiting for five apprentices! 

The Fashion and Textiles Apprenticeship is a unique combination of training and career specific work experience over a 24 month period. You will learn Production Management within the Apparel Industry, Materials used in the Manufacture of Apparel and Aspects of Design within Apparel as part of your training, plus many more exciting aspects of what goes on ‘behind the scenes’ in the fashion industry’

With over 60 years of fashion retailing experience, and having won the prestigious Drapers Fashion Retailer Of The Year award in 2012,  River Island is one of the most successful companies on the High Street.

We are looking for individuals who will thrive working in a fast paced fashion environment and are passionate about our brand.

The roles available will be head office based (Ealing, West London) across production, design and quality control.

Some key skills that you need…

▪ Good, clear and effective verbal communication skills.▪ Able to listen and follow instructions carefully.▪ A love and understanding for fashion▪ An interest in the technical aspects of the fashion industry. i.e. construction, fit, quality, etc.▪ An understanding of fashion retail as a commercial business.▪ Experience with using a computer ideally Microsoft Word and Excel.▪ Good time keeping.▪ A professional attitude to work and study.▪ Be able to work in a fast paced environment and have exceptional organisational skills.▪ Determination and stamina – the fashion industry is hard work!▪ A desire to learn and develop.
