The latest from British Designers in Bath…

This week boutique manager JoJo and 13 Bath Spa Uni students descended on the FashionCapital workshop and factory in North London. After an insightful tour of the manufacturing process Jenny Holloway and JoJo held individual crit sessions to view the student’s project progress thus far. (The 2nd Year students were asked to design a capsule range of 6-pieces for either ASOS Black or Belles of London.) Both Jenny and Jo were very impressed with the standard of design work coming through and are really looking forward to seeing those initial design ideas develop into wearable garments.

Winner of the South West Design Competition Joshua Riches was also in tow and the workshop team went through his sketches to finalize measurements and details. The plan is to have Joshua’s range in the Bath boutique by mid-summer and of course we will be adding regular updates every step of the way.

More next week, until then we wish you a Happy Easter!

Meet Jenny Evans – latest contributor to write for FC

My first foray into fashion journalism was at the age of 17 when I wrote an article about “thong above trouser syndrome” for Wolverhampton’s Express and Star fashion supplement. To this day, I’m deeply proud of the title: “Going for a thong” (see what I did there?).

I have a degree in Journalism and Design and have achieved the NCTJ certificate in Newspaper Journalism. I’m currently studying for my MA in Popular Culture, specialising in fashion, consumerism and feminism.
