Clothes Show London returns next week to Earls Court where designers under the FashionCapital boutique umbrella will have the opportunity to sell and showcase to hundreds of thousands of consumers! Designers are not only able to drive sales at the event but they are also receiving maximum exposure with a presence on the Clothes Show London website and newsletter.
A selection of FC designers have also been selected for the main fashion theatre which is seen live by over 105 500 consumers!

Clothes Show London competition with FashionCapital!
FashionCapital is looking for the best dressed shopper to visit the FC Boutique at Clothes Show London and the winner will receive a goody bag full of designer must haves! Graduate Fashion Week Winners Announced!
Last week FashionCapital attended GFW to offer that all important support and advice to students and graduates about to embark a career in the fashion industry. There was some fantastic talent and creativity but this only highlighted the competitiveness and cut throat nature of the industry. This is exactly why Fashion Enter is here to help young designers succeed today! It is imperative up and coming designers know all aspects of setting up a business and owning a label and this is what membership with us provides.

The Showroom update
The Showroom has kept itself extremely busy over the past few months with appointments and expanding on different areas such as sales and marketing. Also we are launching our new PR Dispensary service for our dedicated members,and users to take full advantage of.
The meeting with Brand Alley on Friday went very well and we are airing a Little Black Dress project in September. Feedback from this meeting and also the N Brown, (JD Williams) and Debenhams meetings will appear in the members section and also on the showroom blog.

The Cape Project
After the success of the AW09 Jacket Project, Fashion-Enter have teamed up again with ASOS.com to create an innovative and inspirational range based on Capes.
This exciting project is aimed at Independent Fashion Designers to give them a opportunity to showcase their talent. The entries will be judged by ASOS and the 20 successful designs will be shown on ASOS.com.

Trend Union presentation
Vanessa Isaia FC Trend Predictor was yesterday in attendance of the world renowned Trend Union Presentation which took place at 66 Portland Place. The presentation was entitled Taking Flight AW 2011/12. This is a very intriguing season based around beautiful birds from the parakeet, delicate swan, the baby chick, pigeon, cockerel, eagle, owls, parrots, peacocks and so forth. We were shown this wonderful clip of the Lyre Bird….

Fashion and Textiles Apprenticeships
FashionCapital has recently joined forces with UK Fashion and Textile Association, as well as many other brands, to back the Fashion and Textiles Apprenticeships. It is also supported by the National Apprenticeship Service and Skillset, the Sector Skills Council for Creative Media.
The new London Fashion Apprenticeship programme will work alongside employers delivering garment construction and technical skills, moving onto specialist training at level 3, with applications of pattern making, grading, sampling and production.

After the resounding success of the last seminar held by Fashion Enter to the Women in Work learners we have decided to do it again!

Senior Delegation from the Department of Arts and Culture to visit London!
After the success of the International Fashion Fusion project initiated by the South African government, asos.com and Haringey Council a proposed visit to London by senior delegates from the Department of Arts and Culture (DACs) in South Africa is now set to take place.
The senior delegation includes the Deputy Director: Design; Acting Chief Director: Cultural Development, Assistant Director: Design; Project Manager: Fashion Industry and Chief Director: Clothing Textiles, Leather and Footwear. They are scheduled to visit London from 18th – 25th July 2010 where a high calibre of meetings will take place.

Fashion Show at Allders
Fashion Enter will be holding a fashion show on September 18th 2010 in Allders Croydon to coincide with London Fashion Week! It is an opportunity to showcase some of our latest talent to join Fashion Enter. It will also be in conjunction with other concessions such as Bay. There will be two shows that day one at 1pm and one at 3pm. Watch this space!

At the Barking boutique this weekend
This Saturday 19th June Corset Art in association with Real Models will again be at Fashion Enter in Barking and will be holding another Real Models body magic day! 12pm till late. It was such a success last time we had to do it again! Fashion Enter will now be selling the body shapewear and you will be amazed of the results it can bring! Hollywood to Havering
Dates for your diary before you book that summer holiday! September 4th and 5th Fashion Enter barking and Real Models will be taking part in a fantastic day called Hollywood to Havering. Anita one of the co-ordinators will be releasing information shortly. We expect 10,000 attendees and will be a great fun day with an exclusive catwalk show where Fashion Capital members will have their collections on the runway. Work experience placement opportunity at FC Head Office!
A unique opportunity has arisen whereby the FashionCapital head office is looking for a reliable, hard working individual to join them at this very busy period.
You will be helping with general admin duties, contributing to the FashionCapital website and helping with the lead up to the Clothes Show London event next week! If you prove yourself and work well within our team you will also be able to attend Clothes Show London with us!
This position is for immediate start and although the placement is unpaid will be excellent experience and look great on your CV.

Oak Lodge
The year long project with Oak Lodge primary school in West Wickham came to a close yesterday following winner; Emily Pomering being presented with the finished garment from her design created via production at the workshop. The local press turned out for the occasion and talented young designer Emily sported her creation for the photo session with the 2 runners up. This project really was fantastic having taken the year 4 students through key elements of the design cycle and marketing concepts to maximise the potential of the collections success. Congratulations to Emily for designing this very current and commercial dress hence winning the competition out of all year 4 applicants.
Industry
It’s been good news for Ted Baker recently having seen sales soar by 20% after the launch of the fabulous new spring summer ranges. Reported growth via sales revenue increased by 18% in the 19 weeks from the beginning of the year up to June 12 seeing string performances both in the UK and overseas.
