British Designers at FashionCapital – Press Day

FashionCapital is delighted to announce it has secured a W1 head office, retail space and showroom. The central London location is based at 2 Seymour Place which hosts a two storey unit with the ground floor retail for consumers and the basement an exclusive showroom for press and buyers. 2 Seymour Place will see the second of the British Designers at FashionCapital concept, with the first already taking Bath by storm and showcases both leading LFW Designers as well as some of the industry’s finest up and coming talent!

We are delighted to be hosting an exclusive press day today. Attracting industry giants Jaeger, Debenhams, Brand Alley and Drapers to name a few, the press launch proved a resounding success and expect more pictures to follow.

Apprenticeship – Apprentices

If you haven’t yet applied for the first London based Fashion and Textiles Apprenticeship programme, this is your last chance. The final stage of the recruitment process will take place next Tuesday in a series of assessments and interviews. Apprenticeship – Employers

If you require skilled labour at an excellent cost to your organisation in preparation for the inevitable tightening of belts as we not so eagerly anticipate the VAT increase; you should be utilising the opportunity of taking on an apprentice who could be working for you from January! Assessments are being hosted next week to finalise the first cohort of 15 apprentices to work with employers throughout the 18 month course. Be Business Ready

Over the last two months Fashion Enter’s Specialist Advisor, Nigel Rust, has been running a series of workshops to get aspiring, and existing, designers ‘Business Ready’ for 2011. The feedback from the delegates was overwhelmingly positive. In fact most of the delegates requested that we run two additional workshops early in 2011 as they are hungry to learn even more about Sales & Marketing and Negotiating.

Here are some of the comments made by delegates on the first four workshops:

Sales and Marketing Workshops

Following the first highly successful run of ‘Be Business Ready’ workshops, Fashion Enter are adding two more workshops covering Sales & Marketing and How to Sell and Negotiate. Aimed at fashion designers who are either just starting out or have been running for a while and want to improve their business, these workshops are designed to be practical – giving you simple tools to help you sell and market your designs as well as an understanding of the principles behind them.

Second week of the BrandAlley Bespoke ‘Perfect Blouse’ Competition Reminder

We are now into the second week of the ‘Perfect Blouse’ competition as part of the BrandAlley Bespoke collection, for the soon to be released online portal for up-coming designer talent ‘Le Lab’. Fashion & Fromage!

Shoppers at the boutique have been getting in the festive spirit this week buying up pieces that shimmer and sparkle. We livened up the proceedings with a live band: ‘Fromage en Feu’ which is described as the most danceable gypsy music in the South West! Customers danced, drank and enjoyed – while a few even made some purchases. ‘Fromage’ did us proud with a non-stop two hour set and feedback from customers was fantastic.
