British Designers Collective

This week the BDC pop up shop has exceeded once again all our expectations! Last week sales were over £15k. Designers such as Anonymous, Emma Cook, Georgina Goodman, Goat, Fiona Paxton, Jean Pierre Braganza and House of Holland remain a firm favourite with the customers. What we know now is that the customer is indeed out for a bargain not wishing to spend over £400 in one transaction. Fashion Enter would like to thank all the team especially Megan Cook (AM) and Stefano Lawrence (AM) in Megan’s absence for all the hard work they have put in to date. We have received some excellent feedback from customers as well!

Industry News

FashionCapital is on hand to provide you with daily updates on what is happening in the world of retail and the industry.

UK retail sales enjoyed a strong rise last month, according to the British Retail Consortium (BRC), with the figures boosted by Easter shopping. The total value of sales jumped 6.6% in March from a year ago, while like-for-like sales were up 4.4%.

However, the BRC said sales were not as strong when Easter trading was excluded and prospects remained “uncertain”.

A separate survey found that fewer retailers fell into administration in the first three months of the year.

A survey, by financial services firm Deloitte, found 44 retailers fell into administration during the period, down 65% from a year ago and the lowest number in a three-month period since 2006.
