NEWSLETTER 14th AUGUST 2013 Dear all,
As every fashion designer knows a collection can be influenced by many things; history, nature, a film and even the darker sides of life. Making the headlines this week is retail giant H&M for their controversial use of a Native American inspired feather headdress (pictured right) aimed at the festival and club crowd. After receiving complaints that the accessory was disrespectful to Native American’s and their ancestry H&M have announced that they will no longer stock the piece and have issued an apologetic statement. Earlier this year a cover featuring Michelle Williams by British magazine AnOther caused controversy with media and bloggers and Victoria’s Secret also found themselves apologising after sending Karlie Kloss down the catwalk in a huge feather headdress and not a lot else. We reported on the issue back in June to read the article click here.

Boutique Pick of the Week
A girl can never have enough accessories, and surely the most versatile of them all is the silk scarf. We have discovered a unique luxury print designer; Julia Morgner. Her scarves are created from original hand drawn illustrations; inspiration is drawn from wild flowers, nature, ornaments and Art Nouveau with a passion for vibrant colours and intricate patterns. Each scarf is digitally printed on to high quality fabrics and hand–roll finished. We particular like the Kate scarf with a royal blue base available to buy via http://www.julia-morgner.com/shop
Until next time, have a great week,
