Dear All,
So far, so fashion fabulous, we are live and direct from the London Fashion Week press room where its wall-to-wall style where ever you look.
London for Fashion and for Business
So far the collection has been a firm favourite and with Jaeger boss Harold Tillman taking over as Chairman of the BFC next season we are banking on this very British brand staying on-schedule in London. We just wish Burberry would do the same! Carlo D’Amario Managing Director of Vivienne Westwood agrees, he commented:
“London has become the global reference point for creativity and never like now there is a need for a permanent platform for the promotion of dynamic British and European talent. I hope our example will be followed by my colleagues at other British brands who now only show abroad. I call on John Galliano, Alexander McQueen and Burberry among others to show their younger distribution lines here in London and unite to make London Fashion Week and London not only a centre for creativity but also for business. There is now definitely more interest in London from international press and buyers and a union of known British brands in London would attract more, therefore making it more cost effective to come here.”
LFW

FC Profile & Nolcha Tie-In
Last night FashionCapital and Nolcha celebrated their London/New York collaboration with cocktails at the Vendome Lounge in Knightsbridge. The collaboration provides the perfect opportunity for talented designers to break into the US market. Thanks to all that attended there was a great industry turn out and full support from sponsors, industry professionals and designers. The team behind Profile and Fashion-Enter and Nolcha will now begin the immensely difficult selection process for the show which has been penciled for September during NY Fashion Week.
FC Learning
On the learning front we would like to mention our latest project with school, they recently undertook the week long FashionCapital challenge. 32 students were set three key challenges which included a full business review of the site, SWOT analysis, marketing plan and actual promotional concepts for both above and below the line marketing. The pupils were outstanding and showed exceptional business acumen including the opening of FashionCapital websites on Bebo, Face Book and Myspace.
The challenge accumulated with each of the participating pupils making a presentation to Jenny Holloway, Director of Fashion Enter Ltd, and also Hayleigh Amos, Retail Manager. The two-hour presentation was excellently executed and included DVD presentations and adverts, Power-Point presentations and even a guitar jingle for a proposed radio advert.
Hayleigh Amos commented: "I was so impressed with all the girls that presented today. Their imagination and hard work really shone through and some of the comments expressed were totally new to us. Well done to everyone that participated in such an excellent project."
Manufacturers Online Showroom
For those on the production hunt we’d just like to quickly mention that FashionCapital now has another 10 CMT units added to the incredibly useful Manufacturers Online Showroom. Do check it out.
