Testimonials from current employers:

House of Fraser

‘This is the first time House of Fraser have taken on an apprentice of this type and we have been delighted with the support and guidance we received from Fashion Enter.

We were supplied with an excellent shortlist of suitable candidates, all of which had a good understanding of the scheme and performed well at interview. Fashion Enter managed the candidates throughout the process and arranged all interviews on our behalf……

ASOS

‘Asos prides itself in being passionate about people and developing talent for the future. It was because of this that we jumped at the opportunity to work with Fashion Enter on the roll out of the first National Apprenticeship Scheme in apparel back in January 2011.

We worked very closely with Fashion Enter to support the launch of the programme and we regularly discussed the scheme of work planned and attended joint meetings with CHENEL. We also ran a joint assessment day together to highlight those applicants who we thought would be ideal…..

The Granary Civic Trust Award

Today Fashion Enter was invited by the Rooff Group to the unveiling of the Granary Civic Trust Award by The Worshipful the Mayor of London Borough of Barking and Dagenham.

The existing building has been brought back to life through an extensive refurbishment carried out with great respect with parts of the building opened up for the first time in many years. The addition of a modern extension clad in bronze complements the original building, making a well- considered architectural statement. The project is a brave vision for the future development of this section of riverside and is a cornerstone of what Barking & Dagenham hopes will become their “creative industries quarter”.

The following is a note submitted by Nick Gould following the Westminster Media Forum Keynote Seminar: ‘The UK fashion industry – challenges, opportunities and policy options’.

The absence of a proper funding structure for starts ups and developing businesses (SMEs) in the fashion sector may well deserve a separate debate and it is certainly a key to the future health of a large part of the sector. It is a major and indeed primary worry for many smaller manufacturers and designers. The ideas of brand protection, expanded workforces, new premises and overseas sales are great, but without cash, are all unrealistic.

The Latest from FashionCapital’s PR Dispensary

This week kicked off with some more publicity for launch brand CrystalCupsLingerie in The Daily Mail. Discussions about the product with Kelly at the Daily Mail had been underway for several weeks and it is now great to see the piece in print and online. The Daily Mail not only circulates around 2million copies per day but is extremely effective online with articles being reused and circulated around the globe. Obviously this is fantastic for CrystalCups at this early stage.

The holistic and alternative health magazines are also picking up on this unique product and more editorial placements are planned for January/February 2013.

At the moment journalists/press are requesting last minute Christmas gift ideas, winter warmers for the oncoming cold snap, plus further ahead requests for Valentine’s Day, Mothers Day and Spring. If you have products that fit the bill then please contact JoJo jojo@fashioncapital.co.uk for our affordable flat fee press release service.

Until next time.
