Dear all,

Graduate Fashion Week 2013 may well be over but there are still plenty of shows taking place up and down the UK to inspire and excite. Meanwhile press and buyers are gearing up for the London Collections: Men which opens this Sunday 16th June with a busy schedule of shows, installations and exhibitions. FashionCapital will be there reporting on all the action.

Also, some good news…Alice Palmer has been shortlisted for the ‘Scottish Textile Brand / Designer’ category in the ‘2013 Scottish Fashion Awards’ – we have worked with Alice from the very beginning of her blossoming career and it is wonderful to see her talent gaining industry recognition. Good luck Alice!

On FashionCapital this Week…

Ashleigh Kane explores festival fashion and how it has become a breeding ground for new trends, the much-loved BBC TV show the ‘Clothes Show’ has announced a TV comeback via You Tube and latest industry marketing reports reveal an increase in consumers looking for products that are ‘Made in Britain.’ Also just in, we have a review on the latest styles and trends in bridalwear courtesy of the ‘White Gallery London.’

A Special Mention for Michael Goodmaker

It is with great sadness to hear that Michael Goodmaker of DesignerHelp.co.uk and a regular contributor to FashionCapital has passed away. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time. Michael was always very generous with his business knowledge and has helped and advised many start-up labels over the years.

Latest Apprenticeship Vacancies

The apprenticeship programme is flying with more and more employers seeing the benefits of hiring an apprentice to help their business grow.

Last week we announced that LFW designer Roksanda Ilicnic is looking to take on four apprentices in production, logistics, press and sales & marketing.

We are still accepting applications so please submit your CV to jenni@fashion-enter.com now.

The latest company to join the programme is Eva Alexander Maternity London:

Eva Alexander Maternity London is a boutique company specializing in maternity fashion. Our maternity wear is well known for its classic and sophisticated designs as well as the quality of the fabrics and the beauty of each garments construction. We design and manufacture our garments here in London and after launching two years ago, we are now sold internationally.

Boutique Pick of the Week

A dress for each and all of us. Michaela Jedinak believes there is a perfect dress for you whatever your age and body shape. The dress should complement and fit your build perfectly, feel wonderful on your skin and make you feel so great wearing it, that you want to wear it again and again. From her launch collection of premium quality dresses that are crafted here in the UK we have selected the Alana by Michaela Jedinak – an ideal cut for the inverted triangle body shape because the fuller skirt line distracts from the broader shoulder line and creates visual balance between the upper and lower body.

Until next time, have a great week,
