FashionCapital Roadshow – dates confirmed!
The highly popular and invaluable seminar on ‘How to Succeed in Fashion Today’ is taking to the road for a tour of the UK! Visiting six destinations across the UK, key members from Fashion Enter and leading industry experts will be visiting a town near you to provide that all important advice on running a fashion label in today’s industry.
The roadshow will kick off in London at the University of East London on 18th October.

Newcastle = 25th October
Manchester – 26th October

Masterclass Pattern Cutting course at The Fashion Studio
The pattern cutting course at The Fashion Studio will commence on 22nd September for five weeks.
Beginners will learn how to make a size 10 dress block and toile from start to finish, taught by leading industry expert Desiree Koster who has previously worked for Biba and Bruce Oldfield
Day 1: Start to make size 10 Block from the beginning
Day 2: Finish Block pattern
Day 3: Copy and cut out Block pattern in card and calico
Day 4: Make toile and look at ways to use the block as an aid in pattern cutting
Day 5: Make pattern for basic skirt and or blouse
You will learn:
* How to make a pattern from the start
* How to use pattern cutting tools
* What Seam allowances to use
* Start to gain knowledge in how to use blocks as an aid in pattern cutting
* To make a simple skirt, blouse and dress pattern

ASBCI INDUSTRY CONFERENCE
FashionCapital has been asked to talk at the ASBCI’s first major industry conference in over three years, which will address the feasibility of moving garment manufacture back to the UK
The conference will feature speakers from retail organisations, brands and garment industry professionals who are actively involved in sourcing and/or reviving the UK manufacturing sector. They will reveal what they are doing to bring all or elements of their supply chains back to the UK and the obstacles they have encountered and overcome.
The conference will also detail an exciting new collaborative fashion apprenticeship programme instigated by industry portal www.fashioncapital.co.uk, the University of East London and fashion employers that will equip a new generation with vital production skills.

Maisy James
FashionCapital and Big Brother star turned fashion designer Maisy James have been working closely over the last few months to create Maisy’s debut collection. The collection was shown at Profile and will shortly be available on the FCBBoutique.
Maisy James has said ‘I am very excited to be working with FashionCapital on my collection and I’m looking forward to selling it!’
