There are now over 250 textiles scanned in the new Textile section (under Trends) and the feedback from you has been outstanding – thank you! Many thanks to Caroline Shaw who has been merrily trawling the streets of London town to ensure that the very best swatches have been sourced specifically for you and also to Vanessa who has had hours of fun (!) on the scanner! It is incredible how the swatches have matched up with the trend forecast by Caroline…..almost too good to be true! With the high street sales down 14% in March, the lowest fall for 13 years, design is everything to carve out that special niche in the market place and the Trends section provides you with vast reservoirs of information to help you.

Finally it is difficult out there at the moment in the world of fashion. Whether you are a designer, supplier, retailer or manufacturer trading conditions are tough and many people are under pressure. So here are a few words for you….a bit heavy I know but sometimes we just have to see the light at the end of that tunnel! It puts work and stress into perspective.
Success “To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived, this is to have succeeded” Ralph Waldo Emerson and thanks to Big Louie!
Ok…that’s it ….back to work!
Until next time
