You have no idea how many times we went into hysterics with that clip! However this does reflect how we keep advancing the site and how the video conferencing will work!
It has been one busy week so far and the festive break seems a destincitive memory! We have been keeping our eye on all the sales that are dominating the high street so we thought that fashioncapital.co.uk should also join in the sales fever. Consequently, we will be offering the eCommerce boutique at the rate of £100 plus vat for designers for the month of January instead of the normal price of £200 plus VAT. This price is for a year’s subscription If you are interested in taking up this offer than please contact Vanessa on either 020 8462 9620 or email vanessa@fashioncapital.co.uk
Colin Cunnion, the new Sales Manager, has got off to a flying start for our sister company Fashion Enter and has organised a stall at the Spitelfield Market each Sunday…great way for the designer members to sell off old stock!
If you are interested in knowing more about this latest initiative from Fashion-Enter then please contact Hayleigh at the Enter Boutique in Croydon on 0203 132 2433 or email hayleigh@fashion-enter.com.
The free Manufacturers Workshop which takes place through January to March is already full but there has been such overwhelming demand that we will be running the seminar again between April and June.
The details of the workshop are as follows:
1)Handouts…these are the working documents that will make your life easier. They will be available in hard copy and also downloadable to enable you to stick and paste your own logo and address directly on to the handouts for you to incorporate into your business.
2)Visit to a quality factory that has been manufacturing for over 15 years. This is your chance to see an upmarket unit that will provide an overview of the factory, plus provide detailed information regarding working correctly with production units. You can also bring your buring questions and problems along to this session and have a one to one surgery with a production expert.
3)A visit to FlorentiaClothingVillage where you will have a guided tour plus a meeting with the Manager Michael Chambi. There are 32 CMT units available to view!
4)A visit to the London Apparel Resource Centre where you have the opportunity to meet the team working there including a meeting with David Jones the Director
5)Finally, a unique view of production from TopShop. This will include a visit to their head office at Berners Street London where the head of production will give you a retailers perspective of working with production units.
This workshop has been provided by funding from City Fringe Partnership and the MSSSP programme.
So as you can see FashionCapital is staying ahead of the pack and we will be providing on line mentoring by the end of January. Already one of our designers, John Huckle, has commented on how excited he is that we are now providing this cutting edge service.
At last this website is back! – 2007/01/05 09:31
I had stopped using fashioncapital. I was sick and tired of seeing nothing new posted up on the home page and the chat was full of rubbish. Since September I kept glancing at the site but after reading your last newswire and the recent manufacturing workshop I have to say I am impressed and now back to a be a regular user again.
This idea of video conferencing is great. I have been struggling on with my own label for the last two years. I am sick to death of not being in the right post code and I am not from London so the support for me personally is crap…sorry but it is.
By having the availablity of regular video conferencing means I can now pay just the £20 and speak regularly to some experts about my design and production problems.
As I said I’m impressed and it takes a lot to impress me. At last we finally have a website that caters for desingers like me!

FashionCapital has also been asked to speak next week at the Designer conference organised by Sally Leonard.
Places for this free seminar are now extremely limited but if you wish to register try the link here
Finally we just wanted to acknowledge that Fashion Enter now has a team of international agents…! Their team now comprises of Jenni Sutton in South Africa, Simon Wang in China, Amanda Conner in Canada, Johanna Duckworth in Chicago, Rachel Costa in New York and finally Francisco in Venezuela. Quite an impressive line up!
Have a good week ahead.
Until next time
