How to Succeed in Fashion

The next Fashion Enters ‘How to Succeed in Fashion Today’ seminar is set to take place on Wednesday 30th March at 2 Seymour Place. The full day workshop will consist of a series of industry experts revealing their extensive knowledge and experiences on different areas of the industry.

The purpose of these seminars is to enable new and existing members to fully understand all the services available to them and at the same time meet with industry experts speaking on a range of subjects from production to marketing to general business support. Topics will range from production, sales, marketing, retail and press and PR.

This seminar costs £50 plus vat for all members to FashionCapital and at a cost of £150 plus vat for non members.

We have Womanswear meetings with these retailers coming up next week and the week after and more in the works.

Please submit your look book, designer bio, press release and pricing to theshowroom@fashion-enter.com to be considered. You must also have a finished collection ready for AW11.

We need all information requested above and lookbooks by Friday 11th of March.

Designers who are selected to show with any of these retailers will need their AW11 collection to be delivered to the W1 Showroom by the 16th of March and no later

Fashion & Textile Apprenticeship

The apprentices formally enrolled with the College of Haringey, Enfield and North East London yesterday morning and were given a talk from Director of Vetigraph pattern and grading software specialist; Herve Andrieu. We are delighted the 2 selected apprentices will be heading to the Asos.com head offices tomorrow for an introduction to the company.

FCMenswear – Headed by Christopher O’Reilly

Now that FCmenswear has gone Live – industry/menswear – you are probably asking what to expect over the next few months. First of all we have a S/S 2011 shoot taking place this weekend. We have a team of 6 Menswear Specialists all working in the field, writing articles on subject such as Tailoring, Style, Trend, Grooming and much more including a photo ‘Archive’ of such things as denim design details, hair styles, pockets ect for designers/stylists to reference and take inspiration from. Closer to the summer we plan to have our first menswear show mixing up our FCBoutique designers collections. Style Factory

Gifted teens from the North West are heading to London to experience the buzz of the fashion industry.

The students, who are visiting as part of the Style Factory programme, will take part in a seminar at the Fashion Enter workshops and factory. The trip will give the group a unique, hands on experience of fashion design and manufacture.

During this half day seminar students will work through the design life cycle along the following steps:

Mood Boards
First Sketch
Technical Sketch
Toile
Sport and Cross Patterns
First Fit Card Patterns
Grades and Grade Specification Sheets
Final Production
