NEWSLETTER Dear all,
NY Profile
This Friday the 35 designers selected for NY Profile will be announced! The selection process will take place in the head office of asos.com where a panel of judges including the Buying Director from asos.com will review each of the applicant’s collections. Applicants have been requested to submit 4 pieces from their collection to be assessed and on Friday the final 35 designers across ladieswear, menswear and accessories will be chosen.
The process will take place at the asos.com head office and will be filmed by British Satellite News. This is a very exciting time and will determine which London based designer talent will show the New York fashion scene exactly what we Brits can do!

Street Trends
Layla Robinson has recently jumped on board here at FashionCapital and will be taking to the streets each week to see what trends the fashionistas are donning.
Layla has worked for FashionCapital in the past when she did her two weeks work experience at the Fashion Enter boutique:
‘I have an avid interest in fashion design and styling, design especially; and since my 2 week stint of work experience at Fashion Enter boutique, my interest in fashion has multiplied and I remain ever more enthused about the subject.
I maintain an eclectic view of fashion and though I don't follow trends to the tee, I am all to aware of growing trends at high street level, catwalk and otherwise; whilst keeping an eye out for popular homage’s to old favourites. This week Layla has looked at florals. Click here for the full Street Trend Report

This morning BBC Online visited the Barking boutique once again, this time to interview some of the hopeful entrants in the Face of Barking and Dagenham modelling competition. Here’s what some of the girls had to say:
Ria Cowan. ‘Meeting with Mahogany Models was a good experience to get into modelling. I love fashion and this is a great way to get involved in the industry.’
Jennine Thomas. ‘It was scary at first but overall a good experience. Once I got used to being interviewed by the BBC I was happy and I am very grateful for the opportunity.’
Ruta. ‘Really great experience and was good meeting new people and learning more about modelling.’
