December 2007

Hello All,

While most are busying
themselves with Xmas shopping and glitzy partywear here at FashionCapital we’ve
been musing over the year ahead. Yesterday we attended the Spring/Summer 08
press launch and catwalk show for high street retailer – Warehouse. Held in a
huge studio space our eyes were treated to a feast of key themes including;
safari, tribal, origami and the hot favourite – Rio, a dazzling riot of bold
colour and graphic prints. It’s always interesting to see what trends are
reinterpreted for the high street.

Daisy May & TopShop

Keeping the commercial
market in mind is very much what 2nd year fashion students at
Croydon College had to do for their latest project. Not every student gets the
chance to have their designs stocked at TopShop but thanks to Fashion-Enter and
Enterprise Learning such a notion became a reality. Yesterday the winning team
was selected; well done to the students from the Daisy May collective for their
very professional presentation and range. Director of Fashion-Enter, Jenny
Holloway would like to say a special thanks to Harold Flowerdew from Enterprise
Learning in Croydon and also to Caren Downey & Rachael Proud from TopShop.
The day was a great success and more designs from the various teams will be
available to buy at Enter Boutique later down the line.
