The Showroom Launch Party
Fashion Enter is delighted to announce that the eagerly awaited launch party for The Showroom took place this evening and an impressive line up of buyers, retailers, press and designers all attended!
The launch united industry mogules all coming together to review the new premises Fashion Enter now has to offer. Those who attended included Karen Peacock, Head of Design, and Russell Fish, Head of Womenswear Design at Debenhams, Greg Hughes, MD at Bentalls, Daniela Boleto – Senior Designer and Melisa Marsh – Product Development Assistant both from Hobbs, Jo Hooper, Head of Buying, Womenswear at John Lewis and Terry Mansfield, Chairman of Graduate Fashion Week.

CAD/CAM course places still available
The FREE CAD/CAM courses announced in last weeks newswire has commenced this week with the lucky participants all receiving training on the pattern making course.
With funding from City Fringe Partnership this is fantastic news and will be extremely beneficial to young designers and their businesses.
There is still chance to get on the course. Seats are limited, and 20 of the placements have been reserved for businesses located in the London Boroughs of Camden, Islington, Tower Hamlets, and Hackney. If you would like further info please contact jenni@fashion-enter.com

FashionCapital to see the real French Fashion Industry
The French Trade Commission in the UK, in partnership with APHO, the association for the promotion of the clothing trade in Western France, is organising a press trip to France this month, which will take British journalists behind the scenes of the French fashion industry. Journalists will be able to visit the workshops of French dressmakers, who carry out a range of services – including embroidery, tailoring, model making and millinery – for prestigious design houses, such as Chanel, Celine and Roland Mouret. The trip is set to take place on 14th – 17th March and FC will be reporting live each day!

The Real Women FashionCapital Model Agency is ready to take off!
One of Colleen McLaughlin’s very own Real Women from the hit TV show, Ava Fay is set be the face of FC’s model agency and pave the way for real women everywhere.
Ava is no stranger to FashionCapital having taken the role of presenter at events such as Graduate Fashion Week and London Fashion Week. Ava appeared on Colleen’s Real Women not long ago and after being whittled down to the final three contestants proved that real women can shine in front of the camera and can compete with the professional skinnies!
FashionCapital is delighted to have Ava on board and once the agency is officially launched you will be able to view her full portfolio as well as our other Real Women models.

London Fashion Weekend
FashionCapital extensively covered LFW last week and what a fantastic week it was but the journey does not stop there! FashionCapital will be attending London Fashion Weekend in association with ELLE Magazine
London Fashion Weekend is the ultimate fashion event, taking place in the official London Fashion Week venue on the lawns of the Natural History Museum, South Kensington from the 4th to the 8th of March 2009.
Cosmo Online Fashion Awards 2009
FashionCapital has been invited to the Cosmo Online Fashion Awards 2009 taking place tomorrow morning in South Kensington.
The 16 award categories represent every element of fashion, from the hottest partywear and sexiest heels, to the best online jeweller and most ethical e-tailer. The winners will be honoured at the celebration breakfast and revealed to the readers in the April issue. FashionCapital will there to report back on all the all the gossip and who has been crowned winners of 2009!
Queen's Lock In
On March 12th from 7pm – 10.30pm there will be a Tranny only night at the Fashion Enter boutique in Croydon. An evening of frivolous fun, drinks, music and more importantly divine clothes and accessories!
This Queen's Lock in is for all those men who have too much style for one gender and often look better in women's clothing than the real deal. Not fair I know but its true and now we want YOU to have reign of the boutique to try the exclusive designer collections for size!

Retail Outlook
According to research by Shoppercentric via over a thousand online interviews conducted with the main grocery shopper from each household, 87% of shoppers are changing their shopping attitude in regards to the recession. 72% admit to making small changes however as the recession continues, it is likely larger amendments will be considered to existing shopping habits. 13% of interviewees consider themselves as unaffected by the existing crisis and believe their luck to continue throughout the duration. 15% of shoppers have not been affected yet however are planning in case the recession hits home and have a clear focus on price. 48% of shoppers claim to have been forced into changing habits however only marginally by sticking to in house brands are keeping price aware whilst avoiding temptation. 24% of shoppers are extremely affected and are actively scouting for lowest prices amongst shops and forced to make major changes in spending habits. If this group increases retailers will be fighting to keep their prices at their lowest to attract and retain this group.
