Asos.com Buyer

As you are aware FashionCapital act as an agent for up and coming fashion designers and are able to present their collections in front of top retailers.

Yesterday we had yet another very successful meeting with the ladieswear buyer from asos.com when she visited the Fashion Enter boutique in Croydon. Asos reviewed over 50 of our designers and 5 have been selected to showcase on the site. For any new designer this is fantastic opportunity to have their label seen by a leading retailer.

Britton's Havering students take to the Catwalk

Students at Brittons Havering School in Essex recently continued their Understanding the Fashion Industry seminar.

Over 30 highly talented students showcased their work on Friday 28th November and the designs were well constructed and executed using hand embellishment, (both embroidery and beading work), heat pressed printing, machine embroidery, and more besides.

The students will now take part in the Festive Fashions catwalk show in Barking on Saturday. Good luck to all the students where they themselves will grace the catwalk wearing high heels, jeans and of course those wonderfully designed t-shirts.

Retail news

High street Woolworths is the next retailer to come under pressure in facing its debt of £385m. Its problems were compounded over the past couple of months when it was forced to pay cash when buying goods from suppliers, because trade credit insurers were no longer prepared to insure suppliers to Woolworths.
