We are delighted to confirm that the Rt. Hon.James Purnell Minister for Creative Industries and Tourism will be attending the Profile event. Mr Purnell will be our special guest of honour at the Gala event on 13th February at 8pm. Marvellous to have such support.

We are also delighted to confirm that BL4L are on board as a major sponsor to the Profile event too. It’s fantastic to have such established organisations backing true designer talent of today. We are also pleased to report that we have a major branded jeans company also supporting Profile – can’t say too much at the moment but we will be going live shortly. As you can see we are on a roll!

Finally, we also are working collaboratively with  K2C at this seasons Profile event; the news just gets better and better! Absolute credit here to Rosemary Emondi and Marlene Worrell. K2C will be showcasing 8 of their designers including Amanda Philips and CoJack.

Teaming up with TBC this season has been an absolute result. Their buyer’s database is enormous (as in thousands and thousands of major retailers and independents) and this is just what the Profile designers need. Maximum exposure!

Profile prides itself on being quirky and cutting edge… we have some amazing talent this season. Without doubt this Profile will be the best to date

SO REMEMBER PROFILE 12TH AND 13TH FEBRUARY AT TOBACCO DOCK PENNINGTON STREET, LONDON E1W. The only place to see new and emerging designer talent.

A few other updates the new feature from Amanda Zuydervelt from Stylebible entitled ‘Vintage fashion – by Stylebible’ is well worth a read! We have had a great response to the last article. Great to work collaboratively with such a professional!

We are also working with Christian Dewar Durie from Texprint and we are delighted to be shortly showcasing a host of their amazingly talented designers.

TEXPRINT® promotes the United Kingdom’s most innovative new textile designers to commerce world-wide. Each year twenty-four new design graduates are selected from British colleges and universities – each identified as a top talent in knit, weave, print, embroidery and mixed-media. Texprint’s Paris exhibition provides them with a first major link to international industry.

Many thanks to Tim Duke for the article on recycling. Its a amazing how many designers are eco friendly and ask about recycling and how to do their bit for the environment.

NOW IT’S TIME TO PROMOTE YOU OUT THERE. We have noticed a dramatic increase in the number of international users so let’s promote you for free on the site!  If you click on to the NEWS icon on the home page and then click on PROFILE you will see that we have a host of user bios on the site ranging form Mark Roberts, Canadian multi millionaire who owns the Carlu in Toronto, to the next generation of would-be designers. Let’s here about you and what you are doing.

All you need to do is send over a picture of yourself and about 150 words of who you are and what you are about! Send this information to vanessac@londonfasionforum.com and it’s as easy at that!

Ok that’s it for this week…have a good one!

Trend Watch: Couture Spring/Summer 2006
The haute couture schedule may well look as lean as a pair of skinny jeans but somehow it’s refreshing to concentrate on less rather than more. From fairytales to the most luxurious of fabrics haute couture can go that bit further giving designers more room to play away from production costs. [More->>]
