Newsletter 11th January 2017
Dear all,
The FashionCapital editorial team are fresh back from the latest edition of London Fashion Week Men’s, a four-day designer showcase packed full of shows, presentations and exhibiting designers. The event may well be called ‘Men’s’ but with many brands presenting their womenswear along with unisex collections it was more preview of what’s to come whatever your gender. A big thank you to Sophie Lau, Rebekah Litherland and street style photographer Sherion Mullings, to read all the reviews please click here. Or keep up to date via our Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat and Facebook pages.

Why Alvanon is Investing in Young Technicians for the Fashion Industry
Five students at Fashion Enter have been awarded £1,500 bursaries by Alvanon. “In the past 15 years, we have lost technical skills and seen a lean towards the creative aspects of the fashion industry,” says Alvanon CEO Janice Wang. “We hope to support the companies and academia that are teaching and training the practical, technical and tactile: the patternmakers, the technical designers and the sewing professionals.”

We couldn’t agree more and we thank Alvanon for their continued support. British manufacturing is on the up and as a result we need more trained production workers than ever before. To read the full story click here.
