Smelling good
It’s all about gorgeous ingredients with fabulous scents at the moment…and I can’t get enough of it! Take Neutrogena’s new Visibly Clear Pink Grapefruit Range – the uplifting zest of the Facial Scrub and Facial Cleanser, both £4.49 will kick start your day and leave your skin with a lovely, healthy glow.
For squeaky clean and softly conditioned hands look no further than Champney’s new Water Mint Gently Cleansing Hand Wash, £5 and Moisturising Hand Lotion, £6 – this refreshing herb scented duo are a must-have for your bathroom. If it’s a whiff of petal power you’re after, why not get into the resurging rose trend with Dr Bronner’s 18 in 1 Hemp Rose Pure Castille Soap, from £1.69. The liquid soap is an eco hero and cleans just about everything in a gentle and earth-loving way – perfect for keeping fresh and fragrant at festival time.
Looking good
Taking the UK and Stateside by storm is the new makeup collection from Top Shop. And you can see why. High quality formulations, great shades and funky packaging means this range is the go-to for both cool and classy looks. If you’re looking for an alternative to the red lip or this summer’s pretty shades, then the purple-hued Gloss in Pulp, £5 is a great choice. Personally I’m loving Desert, the perfect nude lipstick, £8 as well as the Lip and Cheek Stain in Bitten Berry, £6 which gives the cheekiest flush of colour. I was also really excited to discover that the Balm (which comes in two lovely flavours) is almost as good as one of my all time favourite products ever – Eve Lom Kiss Mix – and at £4, it’s a complete bargain.
Being good
Every year sunscreens are becoming more sophisticated offering better than ever protection against skin cancer and premature aging. Formulas are also lighter, less greasy and generally more pleasant to use, so there’s no excuse to not be protected at all times. Catching my eye this summer is Clinique’s Sun with SolarSmart range, from £15 which contains free-radical busting antioxidants plus ingredients to encourage the skin’s natural repair process. Equally impressive is Lancome’s Genefique Soleil range, £22.50 which uses cutting-edge research and UVA / UVB shielding ingredients to protect skin’s youth proteins from being damaged by the sun. For total convenience, I strongly recommend Supergoop Travel Sunscreen Swipes with Zinc For Sensitive Skin, £8. The free-fromnasties wipes provide a comprehensive SPF30 protection, a boost of vitamins and should be in your handbag at all times.
