London Fashion Week – Hemyca Presentation
21-02-2012
Travelling up to the second floor at met with a glass of wine we are told that the Tom Ford presentation is taking place in the same building so security is tight and the event intimate.
The collection itself is displayed on mannequins, hanging from the ceiling and on models. Clean lines on gorgeous outerwear including intricate leather laser cut details and glimmering metal details on waist bands and on chic, harness like straps. Fur collars and muted tones of black, grey and teal make for a divine understated collection.

Double breasted cream and black jackets stand out and bear the same intricate leather detailing, layered under large lapels and modern asymmetric designs. Models dressed in the collection look almost androgynous with high collared shirts, tailored trousers and of course the metal detailed military jackets.

Teal chiffon shirts and embellished teal dresses are toting metal eyelet details – beautifully feminine but still maintaining the strong themes.
The presentation had a wonderful turn out with big names such Anna Wintour and Hamish Bowles from VOGUE, Jayne Pickering Fashion Director of Marie Claire, Daniella Angelli from The Telegraph and Paula Reed from Grazia all stopping by! Each commenting on the quality of the pieces as well as the whole collection being described simply as “it’s beautiful” by Anna Wintour herself! Co-founders Helen Clinch and Myra Nigris both come from fashion orientated families with links in Saville Row and an atelier in Italy. After training at LCF and under designers such as Roland Mouret and Ben de Lisi the pair launched HEMYCA. The brand was recently awarded ‘The Brightest and Most directional fashion brand in the UK’ by Fashion Press week. Fashion Capital took Hemyca and other esteemed designers to New York for NY Profile in 2008.

A still growing business Hemyca is placing themselves firmly on the fashion map.
