Vanessa Friedman was previously named Fashion Journalist of the Year

Vanessa is leaving her former position at The Financial Times, following 11 years at the publication; she joined in 2003 where she became the first fashion editor on the team. No stranger to big fashion publications her experience stretches to InStyle UK, Vogue and The Economist.

New York Times executive editor, Jill Abramson is clearly thrilled to have Friedman onboard at the publication, saying she was “the perfect journalist to be our leading voice on global fashion.”

Friedman will go onto also play an important role in the New York Times luxury Miami conference, which is held in December.
