“I learnt so much” – 4 Day Beginner’s Sewing & Upcycling Workshop

FEL’s FC Designer Workspace held its popular 4 Day Beginners Sewing and Upcycling workshop this month (February 2023). The class was full to capacity and included learners that had free places courtesy of the Fashion Impact Fund.
Most of the group entered the Workspace with limited stitching knowledge and within just 4 days left knowing how to successfully operate an industrial sewing machine, understand and cut a pattern, make basic garments and techniques to upcycle an existing garment. All of the attendees plan to continue utilising their new skills at home with some wanting to gain further industry knowledge.
The group was also highly impressed with the tutors on-hand along with the facilities at the Workspace. Feedback included:
