Fashion Retail Academy Complete Factory Uncovered Course
09-12-2024
Bringing two groups of students throughout the day, the Fashion Retail Academy attended a CPPD course here at the Fashion Enter factory to learn more about how a manufacturing factory runs and the many processes that go into the production of a garment.
Led by Jenny Holloway (CEO), Caroline Ash (Production Manager) and Jenni Sutton (Development Manager) the groups had the opportunity to hear from numerous speakers all with a wealth of industry knowledge to pass on.
Starting their tour with an overview of Fashion Capital and sister companies Fashion Enter, the Fashion Technology Academy, the Fashion Studio and the Fabric Studio, the students were eager to see for themselves the way a factory runs.
Leading the group from the factory where they were able to see the production stages of larger orders for companies including M&S and ASOS.com, Jenny informed the groups of the health and safety regulations whilst the skilled workers were able to demonstrate how different machines are used.
From the factory floor the group went to the Fashion Studio were Rosie and Kasia were on hand to tell them a little about the smaller scale production and how the company works closely with new designers and already established designers.
The group were then able to see what the FTA students and apprentices learn and do here in the Stitching Academy.
Upon ending their visit the groups commented:
