Coming Soon: Christopher Raeburn Talks ‘Slow Fashion’ at Jacket Required
The up and coming edition of the premium trade show ‘Jacket Required’ will include an ‘In Talks With’ session and this time it’s the turn of leading British sustainable designer Christopher Raeburn.
At 2pm on Wednesday 23rd January at the Old Truman Brewery, British fashion commentator and Professor of Diversity Caryn Franklin M.B.E. MSc (Psych) MBPsS will interview Christopher and a panel of industry experts including Hans Ates from Blackhorse Lane Ateliers and Stacey Wood from King & Tuckfield, discussing ‘Crafted to Last – the movement towards slow fashion’. Visitors will not only get to hear about the ethos of slow fashion and how it can work as a business model but they will also get a first view of the collection under the newly created re-brand RÆBURN.
A graduate of London’s prestigious Royal College of Art, Christopher became known for his re-appropriation of military fabrics and for iconic outerwear created from de-commissioned parachutes. The REMADE ethos still guides and influences every aspect of the RÆBURN design and development process; a RÆBURN product is defined by distinctive aesthetic, meticulous detail, considered functionality, and sustainable intelligence. Christopher’s pioneering work has brought sustainable design to a main-stream fashion audience and presents a new definition of luxury with integrity.
Lindsay Hoyes, Event Director of Jacket Required commented: “The concept of fashion for life, the move away from fast fashion and how the retailer and end consumers can embrace this movement is going to be a fascinating discussion.”
Taking place at The Old Truman Brewery in London from the 23rd – 24th January 2019, visitors will also be treated to the new collections from K-Way, Sperry, Psycho Bunny, Le Mont Saint Michel, Peregrine Clothing, Knickerbocker, Cheaney, Colorful Standard, Hummel, Quoddy, Armor Lux, Dickies, Grenson, Guess, Happy Socks, Pendleton, 7L System, Mephisto Originals, Portuguese Flannel, Teva, Yogi Footwear, Colmar, Karl Kani, American Trench, Craighill and Monokel.
