Circular Fashion Innovation Network UKFT 10th July 2024

21-09-2025

Fashion-Enter Ltd attended the Circular Fashion Innovation Network (CFIN) event on 10th July at the head office of UKFT. CFIN is the programme funded by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) and is co-owned by the BFC and UKFT

Focusing on six pillars which are:

+ Recycling Infrastructure

+ Sustainable manufacturing

+ Circular business models

+ Novel technology

+ Diverse and future-proof workforce

+ Green growth

There were approximately 35 people in the room with five manufacturing voices.

Manufacturing holds the key to success in these area combined with new technologies such as Style3D that has generative AI. As one manufacturer commented; “Waste monomialisation is what we do automatically. That’s spot on!”

FEL’s CEO Jenny commented: “One of the slides stated that fabric waste in manufacturing was from 10 – 25%. Jenny addressed the attendees to say that this figure was wholly unrealistic, and if her factory showed even 5 – 8% she would want to know why. Wasting 25% on fabric when margins are so tight is not a realistic figure. It was explained however that the figures were 3 – 4 years ago.

“Industry does not have the time to wait for reports and reviews – industry has to move fast otherwise it will miss opportunities and if the factories do not innovate then they will literally cease to exist.”

CFIN was awarded £1.8m in 2023
