British Businesses Celebrated As The King’s Awards for Enterprise Marks 60th Anniversary
11-05-2026
As proudly announced last week Fashion-Enter Ltd (FEL) has been awarded the highly prestigious King’s Award for Enterprise 2026 in the Sustainable Development category. The announcement comes as The King’s Awards marks a significant milestone – celebrating 60 years since the first honours were conferred in 1966. Established in 1965, the programme has recognised more than 8,000 exceptional UK businesses over the past six decades, highlighting the strength, ambition and ingenuity of British enterprise.
Fashion-Enter Ltd is one of just 36 organisations nationally to receive recognition in the Sustainable Development category in 2026. The award recognises FEL’s long-standing commitment to ethical garment manufacturing, circularity, skills development, local production, and transparent supply chains across the UK fashion and textiles sector.
Overall, 186 awards have been issued this year across four categories: International Trade, Innovation, Sustainable Development and Promoting Opportunity through social mobility. Of these recipients, 89% are SMEs, underlining the critical role smaller businesses play in driving economic growth and innovation across the UK.
The King’s Awards for Enterprise, formerly known as The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise, were renamed in 2022 to reflect His Majesty The King’s wish to continue the legacy of HM Queen Elizabeth II in recognising exceptional UK businesses.
This milestone year also sees the introduction of a new category: The King’s Award for Enterprise – Young Founder, designed to recognise founders aged 18–30 who are actively leading businesses and driving growth and opportunity.
Blair McDougall MP, Minister for Small Businesses and Economic Transformation, said:
“A huge congratulations to every business receiving awards this year, who once again have illustrated the best of British innovation and talent.
“These awards show that right across the UK, there are small businesses that are thriving, growing and succeeding and it’s only right that we champion these successes.”
His Majesty’s Lord Lieutenants will present the Awards to businesses locally throughout the year, with representatives from winning organisations also invited to a special Royal reception event.
Fashion-Enter Ltd joins an exceptional group of British businesses being recognised in 2026 for their contribution to sustainability, innovation and economic growth across the UK.
