NEWSLETTER  21 AUGUST 2013
Dear all,

Here at FashionCapital our company ethos is all about supporting British fashion talent – from design sketch right through to finished garment. British manufacturing is at the heart of what we do and that includes ensuring key skills are passed on to an expanding British workforce.

On FashionCapital this Week…

Our resident journalist Ashleigh Kane visits The Factory and discusses the growing need for a return to manufacturing on British soil. She then follows-up with an article that looks at ‘Made in Britain’ garments available to buy in stores now. Meanwhile, guest contributor – designer Midula Dey has posted an article about recent fashion collaborations with contemporary artists click here to read.

Fashion Enter Non Executive Board of Directors

CEO Jenny Holloway comments:

“Fashion Enter has grown enormously over the last seven years and our values and ethos of a social enterprise remains unchanged being at the very the heart of all we do. However new areas such as working with people who are differently-abled, growing a manufacturing base, looking for global expansion et al requires a new skillset.

I am blessed with many wonderful contacts and friends that have been built up over my career and it therefore gives me great pride to announce the following industry leaders that will be on our Non Executive Board of Directors:-

Carolyn Springett – Chief Operating Officer, Jaeger.
Patrick Egan – Managing Director, Endaba.
Caren Downie – Freelance Fashion Consultant ex-ASOS and Topshop.
Michael Chambi – Director Florentia Clothing Village.
Frank Rodgers – CEO Spoke Guards and ex-Remploy Management.

With this amazing team of people meeting each quarter I have every confidence that Fashion Enter will reach new markets and become a strong sustainable large scale social enterprise.

My sincere gratitude to each of the new members and I so look forward to working with you all in the future!”

Testimonial from Inonectima Designer Maria Tukhas

“I am passionate about everything I do! I have always loved fashion and it has been my dream to have my own label and even in these difficult times I truly believe that one is able to succeed with the right motivation, well-timed help and support and endless energy! I have a very strong ethos about ethical trading and being fair to all I work with and this is just the same as fashioncapital.co.uk .

Not only have FashionCapital encouraged me to grow my label Inonectima professionally at a rapid pace, but I now constantly work closely with their Fashion Studio and The Factory and together we have built up the range from my inspiration and design and their expertise with patterns and manufacturing. I’ve recently showcased at the first fashion event of Rise Superclub and it was a success proving that all the efforts were granted with the acceptance of the wider audiences.

Next I want to be on the catwalk of Profile in November in front of the buyers from Topshop and asos.com but in the mean time I have been asked to be a speaker at National Youth Week and make a one off dress for the nominee of Le Gala Des Dame red carpet event.”
