The Fashion Studio Loves Laura!
This week in the Fashion Studio we have been working with the Love Laura team to create their Spring/Summer 2016 Swimwear collection. Love Laura consists of a small team that is very passionate about their brand and creating unique pieces to make you stand out on the beach for all the right reasons. The brands aim is to spread love and fun all over the world one bikini at a time!
Laura the creative designer and founder was travelling across Australia and Thailand and couldn’t find a bikini unique enough for a girls holiday that she had planned at the end of her travels, so she made up a few samples whilst in Perth & soon realised after a great response that she had to follow her dreams and take Love Laura in to production. The Love Laura girl is someone who’s happy and comfortable in her own skin, and wants to make a statement. Laura adds, “My love for designing & dressmaking started from a young age, when I would dress my Barbie dolls. I then realised as I got older it was magical to be able to create unique clothes to fit me and in the colours styles that I wanted…what more could a girl ask for!”
The Fashion Studio was suggested to Laura by a friend, we are in the process of making her samples, and we are all really excited to see the final result! We think there are going to be a few orders put in by the studio team for Holidays next summer!
Please follow Love Laura on your social media networks and watch the brand evolve!

This week we feature advice from two of the industry’s respected heavyweights; Averyl Oates and Yasmin Sewell, on how to get stocked by a leading department store or boutique. Well done to Hannah Jinkins (pictured right) a graduate from the Royal College of Art on winning this year’s H&M Design Award. What do you do when the CEO of a £1.2bn luxury menswear empire, with 7,000 employees and 500 stores decides to have a fireside chat in North London? You listen. And that’s exactly what Paul Markevicius did – click here to read the full story. We also feature the second installment from George Donnelly’s Topman SS16 Trend report focusing on ‘Utility’ along with a Learning Profile from George Filkins, an apprentice on one of the very first FTA Machine Maintenance courses.
Boutique Pick of the Week
All I want for Christmas…is a bit of New York glamour. These earrings by Silk Purse Sow’s Ear are reminiscent of the Chrysler building in New York and offer a bit of classic Art Deco chic. Made from vintage brass with gold plated ear posts they make a statement and dangle down to the jawline. The jewellery also arrives in a little gift box with a handmade tag, all ready to give or keep while remaining in budget at just £18.
