Dear all,

WorldSkills continued – Lauren Goodgers fashion competition

Last week FashionCapital was at the World Skills London 2011 – the largest ever international skills competition and careers event at Excel London.

Young people from 51 countries/regions were competing to be the best of the best in their chosen skill. More than 200,000 people from the UK visited and were inspired by the dedication of the teams taking part in the Competition.

FashionCapital was part of the ‘Have a Go’ section where young people could ‘Have a Go’ at a wide range of skills. Each student that visited our stand over the four day event had the opportunity to Have a go….at Fashion Design by designing a dress for Lauren Goodger from the hit TV show TOWIE. On the last day Lauren was there herself with fellow TOWIE star Lauren Pope judging all the entries.

Lauren will make the final decision but now she needs the help from you! The top 50 entries have been uploaded to FashionCapital and you can vote on your favourite design!

Friday 7th October was a huge success. Emma, our resident fashion graduate, prepared a range of 10 outfits to feature in the British Designers @FC section of the show. Others in the line-up included: Jolaby, Urban Outfitters, Motel, Bank, Gilly Woo and many others – plus of course a selection of designers currently stocked in the boutique – Jean-Pierre Braganza, Goat, Emma Ewer, Hemyca, Masato, Tramp in Disguise and FiFi Venus.

The after show party with Rackabeat, Bar-Low, Bristol’s own talent Mr Soulsbury and DJ Skint ensured the evening continued with class and style.
