NEWSLETTER Dear all,
Merry Christmas from all the team at FashionCapital!

British Designers at FashionCapital
Last week the Press Day and official launch of British Designers at FashionCapital took place at 2 Seymour Place in Portman Village.
FashionCapital is delighted to now have a central London location to further support British based designers so the celebrations and launch into the industry took place last week with a festive feel.
The ground floor space of the unit has been beautifully merchandised by Retail Manager Megan Cook. A fuse of London Fashion Designers and up and coming talent gives the boutique a unique twist ensuring consumers receive premium quality and innovative designs away from the high street.

The official launch party also took place with a whole host of designers and supporters of FashionCapital celebrating the new boutique and showroom. A live mannequin surprised guests with her subtle poses in the window and the mince pies and mulled wine flowed whilst only but admiration was conveyed for the boutique and collections showcased. A fantastic start to a unique concept supporting British Designers!

Trends!
Earlier in the month we gave you a sneak peak into the first trend due to emerge in the summer 2012 months, Tribal Funk. Inspired by African tribal artwork and the natural pigment used to create it.
Due to the amount of natural disasters that have occurred in the past year the trends that will be featured have all been developed from natural products that can be taken from Earth to remind us of its true beauty.
This week we can introduce to you the second of the four themes which will all be revealed in more depth throughout the New Year, ‘Crystal Haze’. Crystal haze comes from a different angle to the previous trend adding femininity and more attention to detail with frills and heavy embellishment. Colours are pastel and pretty and an edge is added through raw seams and hems.

FCBoutique.co.uk
Amidst the extensive snowfall over the last few weeks, the FCboutique.co.uk jumped at the chance to create a beautiful photo shoot in the stunning yet inconvenient snow for a fabulously Christmassy vibe. Be sure to get your last minute Christmas party outfits here or if you are all retail therapied out there are some gorgeous stocking fillers in the accessories section.
A huge thank you to Alexander Jordon for the photography of the shoot
One of Fashion Enters much loved labels ‘Belles of London’ was featured in the shoot, despite the snowy weather holding them up they managed to capture some lovely images of the clothing.
Belles of London have set up a new blog to show the general goings on behind the label. So to find out more go and have a look at http://bellesoflondon.blogspot.com/

Be Business Ready
Over the last two months Fashion Enter’s Specialist Advisor, Nigel Rust, has been running a series of workshops to get aspiring, and existing, designers ‘Business Ready’ for 2011. The feedback from the delegates was overwhelmingly positive. In fact most of the delegates requested that we run two additional workshops early in 2011 as they are hungry to learn even more about Sales & Marketing and Negotiating.
Here are some of the comments made by delegates on the first four workshops:
“At long last I feel I’m getting the knowledge I’ve craved + I’m in the right place – Thank You.”
“Nigel is a great teacher. He has a great way with his students. He doesn’t teach us ‘parrot fashion’. We are made to think about planning every aspect of our business.”
“Over the past two courses with Nigel it has been very informative and I feel more prepared for 2011. I would recommend the course to any individual that requires support in helping make his or her small business become a great business.”
“Have learnt so much + now feel ready to put everything I’ve learnt into action for 2011. Thank you Nigel.”
“Nigel is great! V. helpful, supportive & encouraging. I found our 1:1 meeting extremely useful & insightful – thank you Nigel.”
“I have found the workshop (‘Making It Happen’) very useful and it will definitely help me in preparing to start my business.”
“I have enjoyed the course and also understand the break even analysis (covered in the finance workshops), which before now has been a bit confusing no matter how I was taught. I am really glad I took the course……. I enjoyed the one-to-one sessions also.”
Sales and Marketing Workshops
Following the first highly successful run of ‘Be Business Ready’ workshops, Fashion Enter are adding two more workshops covering Sales & Marketing and How to Sell and Negotiate. Aimed at fashion designers who are either just starting out or have been running for a while and want to improve their business, these workshops are designed to be practical – giving you simple tools to help you sell and market your designs as well as an understanding of the principles behind them.
